Power Surge?

Well I was playing one night on XBL with my chip off and suddenly we had a power surge. I let it to next morning and by that time I wanted to put crap on my HD so I trun my Xcuter 2.6 CE on and the lights are green it boot's up to Micro$oft saying the lgo on the bottom on the screen. So I put Slayer's in to see if the xbox would boot off that but it gave me the dirty disc erorr.. So I'm wondering why did it no fry my whole xbox why just the chip? I have the new power cord from xbox. I also have a programmer so if the bios got corrupted I an fic it easialy.

Sorry but whats the actual question you're asking here? do you want to know how power surges work and how they choose what to fry on your board?

Yea did it fry my board or did it just scamble the data on the chip but the rest of my xbox is fine..

Check your D0 point and your switches. Sounds like the Xbox just isn't booting from the chip, but that doesn't mean it is dead.
