I'll check when I get off work but the readings do look good at least and no you can't that is what the demon does is hook directly to the nand to read and write

And yes about the yellow wire

This is why people are switching forums and moving on. People been here for 1 year and they know all there is to know about every circuit board in the world.
bud those are his options ,that's just the way it is n I didn't say I know everything, idc if they go to another forum or not/ im not here to argue ive seen martin c say if sb is shot it need replaced or get demon to r/w to nand

He already been told what options there were. That's why he has a thread asking for a slim demon. I was trying to help him rule out all other possibilities. Who care if that takes 6 pages or not. If you have a suggestion then by all means please share but the guy actually has a little common sense so I don't mind helping. We are sorry if we are taking up all space on your screen because of having 6 pages up.

you could try the bad flash recovery but only if you plan on getting a demon if it don't work because if you eras the nand then it still don't read you will have to us the demon to rewrite anything or get south bridge replaced as suggested earlier.

Might as well try hell it can't hurt if ya got to get a demon or SB replaced anyways

Didn't even work, convinced SB is bad. Getting a demon.

Make sure you watch XJohnnyGunsX video on installing the DemoN in a Trinity, very educational.

Also, not sure what iron you ended up with, but I would highly recommend something like a Hakko FX888 or a 936 clone (analog not digital) before you undertake installing a DemoN. Also, buy a assortment of tips for it. I have done a bunch of soldering and a few mod installs since the first playstation, and it still took me two days to work up the courage to solder that tiny row of NAND points!

Flux is your friend, I used this and found it to work very well. I know there is another brand the pros here rave about, but it is pricey and apparently hard to come by the genuine product unless you are buying from the right people.

Best of luck and keep us updated on how it turns out!

I have a 25W weller iron with radioshack non-spill flux. Is a 25W weller too much for dealing with these sensitive points?

25w will do as long as you dont have a huge tip on it. I would suggest only hooking up the parts of the demon that are needed to read/write to the nand and just do an all wire install, unless you actually would like to have the console as a dual nand with retail on the console for xbox live and a hacked image on the demon for homebrew. check out my install HERE
and here is the one that Krafter did. And another one by jery911. and these are the only wire-only installs I have seen pictures of but im sure there are more out there but there is plenty of info on it just ask if you decide to go this route. Krafter's is by far the most informative and all around best one though.

You will still have to solder 17 wires on to it and the motherboard in order to read/write the nand.

These are the points need just for R/W function

I personally don't care for that flux on this type of work, it really seems to make a mess, I have used it for radio and speaker wiring though.

Assuming the iron is this one?

If so, that tip is too fat for my taste with the DemoN NAND points if you are attaching it permanently, although I think that is the size tip in the video install I linked earlier.

I just took a stab at it on the radioshack site. The one you have looks very nice and you can pick up some additional tips to accessorize. I would grab a ST6 and/or ST7 for this kind of work.
