I'm going to get a trinity slim demon from Ultimate360 and do a perma install. Buying a demon just for r/w seems like a waste of money doesnt it?You only need D0-D7, RB, VCC, GND to r/w

I like either the 6 or 7. The 6 has a bit of a flat on it (like a screwdriver) and will hold a bit of solder on the tip through surface tension, the 7 is round and does not hold solder at the tip, it will pull up the sides through surface tension, so it basically only applies heat and you feed the solder into the joint. When I installed my DemoN, I used the Hakko version of the 6 for the NAND points and then switched tips to a larger tip for the pads and larger points on the motherboard.Best tip for DemoN install?

I'd take the 2nd one out for a nice Italian dinner, give it some wine and slip it a rufy. Later that night I'd put my seed in it and create the perfect solder baby. I would deny it's mine of course, but deep down I would know. Both may yield same result, but which would you'd rather see in your console?
UPDATE: I traded my trinity in for another one and it works!!!! Got xell, instaboots most of the time. The problem is that after I had tried the XB settings and the dash launch patches, the console glitches infinitely (I installed the ROL mod).you can use a simple 1tb or 2tb external usb 2.5" hdd for the demon nand and the xbox nand wouldn't even pick it up so you wouldn't have to unplug it when on xbox live.. But the new update that makes it so you can use up to a 2tb drive may interfere with that im not sure haven't been on live in a long time but I would definitely look into it first.
good deal, glad to hearUPDATE: I traded my trinity in for another one and it works!!!! Got xell, instaboots most of the time. The problem is that after I had tried the XB settings and the dash launch patches, the console glitches infinitely (I installed the ROL mod).
I'm going to start a new thread for it

That reminds me, thank you for all of your help ablegepu, I really appreciate it. Could not have done any of this without your input and assistance. This really means a lot to me.:cool2: I'll post a test report as soon as I get my camera back from the shop.We want some pictures when you get done so we can see the new and improved soldering. It's been nice helping someone who actually appreciates the help and does what you ask of them, thanks for following the rules.. If you do decide to post pictures of your install just make a CR4XL test report here Forum: Xecuter CR4 XL Succesful Test Reports and here is How To Post Test Reports.. If you don't want to you don't have to but we could always use the input on what settings worked best for you with the CR4XL..![]()
I find that dipping the wires in flux before tinning them makes for a full tin and then you can cut it really short so when you solder it in place its a nice snug fit that you can secure with a wonderful epoxy like E6000 or Amazing goop. Neither of these two will eat the wire insulation and its much thinner than anything else I've ever used and holds a sh*tload better and safer than using hot glue like I've seen other people use before. When I go to post the pics of the trinity I'm currently having problems with I'll get some of the Blue and yellow wires before I desolder them.Updated POST connection:

I've already installed the CR4 with semi-decent boot times. I'd like to say my soldering looks OKI find that dipping the wires in flux before tinning them makes for a full tin and then you can cut it really short so when you solder it in place its a nice snug fit that you can secure with a wonderful epoxy like E6000 or Amazing goop.
