You only need D0-D7, RB, VCC, GND to r/w
I'm going to get a trinity slim demon from Ultimate360 and do a perma install. Buying a demon just for r/w seems like a waste of money doesnt it?

Not if you plan on doing more installs. It is always good to have one laying around for flash config problem 16m consoles. But yeah go ahead just take your time with the install and you will have to do some research on how the dual nand works so you can set up seperate HDDs. One for xbl nand and another for the hacked nand on the demon.

The demon is especially great because all you have to do is read your Xbox nand and you don't have to ever write anything to it eliminating chances of losing original nand or bad flashes plus you can read/write to the demon through the external module after putting the box back together

Best tip for DemoN install?
I like either the 6 or 7. The 6 has a bit of a flat on it (like a screwdriver) and will hold a bit of solder on the tip through surface tension, the 7 is round and does not hold solder at the tip, it will pull up the sides through surface tension, so it basically only applies heat and you feed the solder into the joint. When I installed my DemoN, I used the Hakko version of the 6 for the NAND points and then switched tips to a larger tip for the pads and larger points on the motherboard.

Let me tell you about the soldering qualities.

Here is all my work, I just grabbed a testing motherboard to show you this, please see the difference.

And quality Soldering

Both may yield same result, but which would you'd rather see in your console?

I did both of those jobs by the way, purposely making one more simple than the other.

I'd take the 2nd one out for a nice Italian dinner, give it some wine and slip it a rufy. Later that night I'd put my seed in it and create the perfect solder baby. I would deny it's mine of course, but deep down I would know.

Exactly the response I was expecting, both of those were my work by the way, Of course the 1st one was an example of the common mans soldering.

There was less than 1mm of copper exposed in that 2nd image, the first image is quality of "temporary" soldering, like nand-x or LTU2 glitching, however, some people think that is of quality for permanent use.

Is it possible to partition the hard disk in the xbox for each nand in the demon? (1 part for stock, 1 part freeboot)

I have one partitioned for use in a Wii and the xbox 360, one part about 300GB been in WBFS format and the rest been in FAT32 for Xbox 360 Backups., The both consoles work just fine and dont have issues with the other partitions presence.

However, splitting for use one 2 of the same console, like what your asking, that would be tricky at best, probably not doable.

heellll no do not ever try to use a hdd with with homebrew and backups on a xbox live nand, even if it is possible that just seems like something that would get the console banned real quick

you can use a simple 1tb or 2tb external usb 2.5" hdd for the demon nand and the xbox nand wouldn't even pick it up so you wouldn't have to unplug it when on xbox live.. But the new update that makes it so you can use up to a 2tb drive may interfere with that im not sure haven't been on live in a long time but I would definitely look into it first.

UPDATE: I traded my trinity in for another one and it works!!!! Got xell, instaboots most of the time. The problem is that after I had tried the XB settings and the dash launch patches, the console glitches infinitely (I installed the ROL mod).
I'm going to start a new thread for it

UPDATE2: I didnt have CR4 selected when creating the image........ lol Working

We want some pictures when you get done so we can see the new and improved soldering. It's been nice helping someone who actually appreciates the help and does what you ask of them, thanks for following the rules.. If you do decide to post pictures of your install just make a CR4XL test report here Forum: Xecuter CR4 XL Succesful Test Reports and here is How To Post Test Reports.. If you don't want to you don't have to but we could always use the input on what settings worked best for you with the CR4XL..;)

That reminds me, thank you for all of your help ablegepu, I really appreciate it. Could not have done any of this without your input and assistance. This really means a lot to me.:cool2: I'll post a test report as soon as I get my camera back from the shop.

I find that dipping the wires in flux before tinning them makes for a full tin and then you can cut it really short so when you solder it in place its a nice snug fit that you can secure with a wonderful epoxy like E6000 or Amazing goop. Neither of these two will eat the wire insulation and its much thinner than anything else I've ever used and holds a sh*tload better and safer than using hot glue like I've seen other people use before. When I go to post the pics of the trinity I'm currently having problems with I'll get some of the Blue and yellow wires before I desolder them.

I've already installed the CR4 with semi-decent boot times. I'd like to say my soldering looks OK
