A friend of mine just got a new hard drive, and i was wondering if i can prep it using my x3 for the preparing and formatting option, then put it in his box with an aladdin chip. Anyone try this with any other chip? Thanks

I'm not sure how to do it that way, how can you put the new hard drive in using evox if its a new clean hard drive? If it's easier than the X3 method please post link to a tutorial er give brief rundown. Thanks

Lite-on help!

Specs:

Lite-On 74850C
Already flashed with ixtreme LT firmware, need LT plus 1.1
Want to use Windows 7 and JungleFlasher v0.1.76 Beta (166)
Dell Studio XPS 8100 / H57 Chipset / Onboard SATA

Details:

I had someone else flash my drive already without using the connectivity kit and probe like everyone else says you need. It has actually been done twice by two different people without using those. The last guy showed me how he did it. But, this is the first time I have tried on my own. So now I need to upgrade my fireware to the latest LT plus and I can not get my drive to show up in jungleflasher. What the last guy showed me was to scrap two spots on the xbox motherboard to connect the two. Anyone else know anything about that? I have already disabled the signed driver thing for windows 7 which was a problem at first. I dont know what I/O port it is connected too, it is the 4th SATA connection on my motherboard. I have tried the close tray half way trick. I have researched and researched but no luck. I am tired and fustrated and just need someone to help me out.

Thanks in advanced to anyone who takes the time to read this.

Re: Lite-on help!

what version of firmware is on the drive? your post does not specify

this will determine what you need to do to retrieve your information

could you get a hold of one of the other guys to send your key information to you?

you need to read through the jungleflasher tutorial extensively, and it may be that your motherboard is not compatible with flashing drives

Re: Lite-on help!

The firmware currently on it was the newest fireware when Halo Reach came out. I think it was ixtreme LT 1.1 or 1.2?

No I cant get a hold of the other guys I dont have their info anymore.

I have read through the tutorial a lot but maybe I missed something, I will check again.

Any other help is appreciated.

Re: Lite-on help!

if you cannot get a hold of either of the two guys and you have LT on the drive, you MUST MRA HACK in order to retrieve your keys

this involves soldering

i highly suggest you send it to someone

the first drive is always the hardest

Re: Lite-on help!

So just curious then, how is it that they did it before without soldering it? But now I need to. Is it because LT makes you need that compared to the older ixtreme?

Just trying to understand, not questioning your answer.

Re: Lite-on help!

this is just a property of LT

LT removed the "dummy from ixtreme" or the lo83 functions from the drives

after flashing LT to a drive, the only way to get a key is the have the key from a previous dump or to MRA hack

Re: Lite-on help!

I'm still curious if anyone knows how/why the last guy scraped two points on the xbox motherboard to get jungle flasher to recognize my drive. There where 4 square metal spots in a square formation, he scrapped the two top ones with a screw driver to get a connection between the two spots. After he was done he wiped the metal connecting the two off and grounded the motherboard.

Re: Lite-on help!

on the xbox motherboard? that doesn't make sense

if you are talking the dvd drive motherboard, he was bridging the R707 points so he could use the dvdkey32 function in jungleflasher to extract the keys

he would have had the dvd drive already recognized, but withe ck3 lite/pro, you can bridge those points, instead of using a probe

if you have LT, this function no longer works

Re: Lite-on help!

Well it wouldnt recognize the drive until he connected those points on the xbox motherboard not the dvd drive motherboard.
