I have just finished installing my x3 into my v1 xbox with the pro3switch but the following problems have arisen. When I hold the power on button for more than 1 second (disable x3) the hard drive fails to boot xbox screen and defaults back to enabled x3. Finally when I hit both power and eject button the switch does not shine purple but only blue. Anyone know where or what pins I should be checking and also is it safe to run a continuity test with my multimeter to check for cold joints (concern here is putting current on the board. Thanks for help on any of the above.

i just got finished redoing my d0 and it is firmly soldered, in the process the little round plate came off but the two lines are sldered together along with the d0 wire. Did that round plate onnect to anything through the board? on the other side??? could that be my problem?

That little pad was joined to the top d0 line using the via.

You need to get it connected again. was there a tiny hole where the pad was? If so, you need to solder a small thin wire from the base of that hole to the d0 wire you've soldered. Hopefully you'll make the connection.

If you're not 100% sure on doing this, then take it to someone who is.

the two lines that are running along the motherboard on that same side that went right inot the pad, are those important or is it just the hole underneath needs to be connected to the d0? right now i have the do connected to both of the lines that went out on either side of that plate, but i dont think its connected on the bottom. Also thanks for your help so far.

you know the top d0 point on the board? that's a via which goes right through the board to the bottom pad (which has come off). These need to be rejoined.

If you had a piccie of the area I could take a look.

no probs - most stuff you download these days are going to be in a number of formats:

zip
rar
iso
exe

etc...

ZIP and RAR files need to be extracted before they're used. EXE files usually self-execute. ISO files are burned straight to CD/DVD as an image. If you're ever unsure about a file format, Google it!
