LITEON DG-16D4S - SLIM pro kit mt chip very hot and no flash properties

hi there. got myself a pro kit from ck3 and fitted to my pcb yesterday. ive checked every pin on the chip and they are connected ok from what i can see. fitted the qsb with no problems. first time i plugged the pcb into jungle flasher i intro'd the device and it said 0x72 and froze without the flash properties coming up. then after a restart it wouldnt find it at all and the mt chip is very hot. i mean super hot to the point where i cant touch it. any ideas? all the points look clean and the chip fitted first time with no problems. i can take a picture if needed but cant see it helping as it wont focus that well zoomed in to see if any of the connections were bad.

I don't actually own a digi camera. I have an iPhone 3GS and a blackberry pearl. Don't think either have a macro function. And what do you mean connected pin1 properly. All the legs are on the corresponding pads. Surely that means it's right. Or do you mean is the cut corner in the right place. It's on the bottom left

Bottom left with the sata and power connector facing away is correct.

with out a good picture we cannot help you more. you could have shorted pins even the smallest solder whisker could cause a short. if you have jewelers loop, 10x at least take a look at all the pins.

found my issue, there was a bent pin. as i tried to unbend it it snapped off so im pretty f**ked. got an mt1339e ic here. will that work with the qsb from a pro kit? i just waiting for the desoldering braid to get the solder on the ic legs so i can fit. gonna have to be a bit more delicate with this one

if the pin broke off you may if your lucky ne able to jump it, or if you are luckier, its a n/c (not connected) pin and its unused.
