xbox version 1.4
original western digital hdd
samsung drive
x3 chip with switch connected & set at on,on,off, off, off (right, right, left, left, left)

I'm a newby, I purchased and installed an x3 chip. Now I believe I must install a flashbios. Do I need to install a dashboard aswell ? And what does the little wheel on the chip do, what should it be set on?

After installing chip, went to the fashbios screen and installed the flashbios.
1st I used bios x3 3.1, no luck.
When I restarted the xbox, it turned on and off 3 times and no screen and the eject light flashed red and green, and the chip switch logo was blue.
I then tried bios x3 3.3, the samething happened.
So I tried bios x3 1959, and the samething happened again.

If I bypass the chip, it runs fine.

Can someone please help me, I'm trying my best. :?

I did what you said, first the dvd+r would not read. I tryed it with cd-rw and it read but said it contained no bios update.

At the top of the blue screen it does say "FlashBIOS 3.0.0"
Could it aready have a bios on it but my chip is not working or a solder connection problem?

I hooked up my eithernet to the xbox and I enabled network flashing.
It went through the process.
I restarted and the same problem, it will not boot.
Do you think the problem lies with the flashbios, installation problem or bad chip?
I'm get pissed off at this chip.
I spent all this money and time and it doesn't work.
Is there, by any chance, a phone number for support?

Boot your chip so FlashBIOS appears.

Set your switches to on on off off off

Select Network flashing.

go to PC and select http://IP ADDRESS

browse for and select your X3 1959.bin file you downloaded from Xbins.

It should flash to the chip. Once the Xbox shuts down, reboot the Xbox. It should load the flubber screen with the X3 logo at the bottom.

Xbox 360 SLIM Ring Of Light Mod

Was wondering if anyone knows what the ring of light is like on the Slim. I was thinking of buying one if it's possible to change them, I know it's been done but I can't find anywhere that says how. I think there's meant to be 9 LEDs but I saw from a youtube video that there are resistors and stuff connected to them.

yeah it's got a dual led for the center light
and then each part of the ring has 2 leds (they are single color)
so that's 8 leds for the ring

my friend just changed his to blue last week and used his standard colors
for his mod, he didn't have to order anything special.

Hmm, wonder if it's the same size of leds that you put in the original 360? If so, I'm in luck. I have 200 of each color :p

Yeah, they're the same LEDs, but you need a fine tip soldering iron or you'll take off something else in the process!
This is what mine came out like..

Holy crap! Sweet man! Looks insane with the black, and blue. My slim will be here Friday, and I'm gonna do that. Thanks for telling me to use a fine tip lol. Also I'm guessing the fans ain't the same as the original 360? Cuz I bet it would look sweet with some blue Talismoon fans :)

HackAttack, there is only one fan on the side now so the whispers wont work. Im sure talismoon will have a new line of fans soon though. And are the LED's still on a seperate ROL board, or are they permanently attached to the xbox now?

Thanks man! And I'm not sure, but I believe the new RF board is attached to the faceplate, cuz I noticed when my friend took off his faceplate, it had wires running from the system to the faceplate to power the touch buttons, etc. And now each piece of the ring uses 2 leds, so that's a total of 10 now. Because 2 on each quarter, and 2 in the center.

Lol yeah I hear ya. Mine will be in Friday, so I'll see how it goes. I wanna take it apart, and just see what the new fans, heatsinks, and stuff look like.. I better not find one $^#% X-Clamp in it, or I'll take to Bill Gates, and shove it up his butt myself haha.
