Problem flashing from usb?

Hi, i just got my xbox 360 i have the samsung ms28 drive, i have opened the xbox bought the sata vt6421a card and got my serial number. this is my problem i have used the tutorial for the extremebootmaker_0.5.3_rc3 using xtreme52 i have ticked all the right boxes apply bokes patch use custom controls list scsi it comes up as via raid controller - 3249 then put my serial number in using xtreme 5xa report as sammy ms28 then use my usb and format make disk bootable and hit create all done happy flashing!. Now when i try to boot from usb it does not boot i have disconnected all drives and made my usb 1st boot device all these files on my usb.

I have also tryed using my bros cpu using xp im using vista on mine. Am i doing something wrong as i say i have read up quite a lot on firmware before i attempted this please could someone help me plssssssssssss.

im not too familiar w/ bootmaker, but i used iprep. i had troubles getting my usb flash drive to boot even when the files where on there. i tried 3 different ones!! SOLUTION: use a usb floppy drive and it will work like a charm.

Thanks for the reply spartan i have just tried with iprep on and ntfsdos cd following textbooks tutorial and i hit another problem when trying to read my firmware i set up it but when i get to the part when you you have to power off the xbox (10sec trick) i get reading 01% then some error cant remember what and then 3 option yes/no/all it writes a file to my hdd but its only 1kb am i write in saying this is wrong i heard it had to be 256kb
