I am running into a problem. I have the 46D and flashed it to the GaryOpa/Maximus 2.3 and I keep getting open tray issues. Originals work perfect but the backups dont work. The rubber band mod is ONLY for Samsung and will not work on Hitachi. I tried adding a piece of plastic to mine and then the drive didn't read anything... im hoping someone can give me some advice here.

I also tried loading the game and then once you hear 2 clicks hit the eject button 2 times quickly so it will give it extra time to read.... it works for some i guess not me

The firmware did load 100% and said complete I am using XBC to rip and write the discs and using Memorex DVD+R DL (They were on sale) and this is my first backup of my originals.

I know Verbatims are the best but I wanted to test my luck on Memorex (using a 111D & Kreon drive)

Thanks in advance guys

The two click method was used on earlier fw releases until Geremia released a better media detection patch, which was then implemented into the later fw releases that we have now. The reason for the clicks is the bitsetting of the burnt dvd and the way the security sector is read on boot. The bitsetting has to be set to DVD-ROM prior to burning on a DVD+DL disc. Pioneer drives, such as the 111D autobit set the discs, which you have. However, with the newer fw, the bitsetting is no longer needed, yet i still do it for maximum results.

Are you sure you have 2.3 garyopa flashed in your drive? I recommend you restore your Fw to its original state and flash with 2.3 revision 2 garyopa and test your backups then.

If you encounter the same problem use Imgburn with the layer break set to - 1913760 in the options to burn the backups instead of xbc, as it can be a little buggy burning the isos. Also, burn @ 2.4x and maybe change over to verbs, as they are the best and i'd rather pay an extra few dollars for decent discs. And make sure you have the latest version of the kreon fw V0.81 installed which has the proper security sector extraction.
