I have a problem with the type of Drive Samsung ms28

After doing the process of amendment

iXtreme LT2.01

I figured the problem in the form of XGD3 run the games when you play these games receive an
error message E66

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxnbXhqKGJI"]error xbox360 E66 - YouTube[/ame]

What is the solution to this problem

I had this problem and it turned out that somehow my drive got spoofed as Hitachi during it's last flash, after flashing LT 2.01 I had exactly the same symptoms.

Solution was read then MANUALLY spoof the Post OFW back to sammy in target, write, then all will be back to normal, so it was just a case of flashing to LT 2.01.

Look in Jungle Flasher for the Bold text mentioning that your drive is spoofed or check the OSIG and make sure it matches

is it ur original drive or is spoofed drive
It is my original drive and somehow it got spoofed as a different drive, (I mean who wants a Hitachi anyway).

My original Samsung whisch matches the console somehow got spoofed as a Hitachi, thats why XGD3 games gave E66 and black screen.

Please post a JF log so we can check it out for you.

It's basically business as usual except for point (5) but I wll run through the proceedure for you.

1. Load JF
2. Read Drive and load to Source
3. In Target Open Firmware folder and load the Sammy OFW
4. Spoof source to target - Drive key will appear in Target section
5. Hit Manual Spoofing button and from the dropdown menu select your drive M28
6. Write and SAVE (Very important) E-MAIL THIS FILE TO YOURSELF NOW AND ALWAYS USE AS YOUR SOURCE FIRMWARE
7. Load Saved firmware to Source
8. Load LT 2.01 to Target
9. Spoof source to Target - Drive key will appear in Target section
10. Write

Welcome back to the world of Samsung :)

E66 problem has been resolved
But there is a problem when you run the games xgd3
An image of the game and when you press on a game to run
Show a black screen will last for 20 to 30 seconds
Message appears and then the disk is unreadable
Clean the cd and restart the device
Video illustrates the problem

Ok that's good, (I am guessing you removed your Drive key from your JF Log) just to be sure all is well please check your xgd2 back-ups are working normally so we eliminate any further problems with the firmware and put that behind us (No more JF logs required).

My guess is your only problem now is with the reading of xgd3 back-up discs so our solution is one of the following

A. It's a bad burn (reasons for this could be )

1. a truncate disc
2. a bad rip of the original
3. Not using the corect media (Verbatim +R DL - made in Singapore)
4. Not using a iHAS "burner max" compatible burner with firmware patch.
5. Bad quality test results in Kprobe 2

B. Bad laser

1. Buy and fit a replacement laser
2. Re-calibrate the POT settings (Not recommended unless your quite happy to kill it and wait for a replacement laser.

I think we need to start with a Log of your burns and details of the setup you are using to write your discs.

I repeat my thanks and appreciation to you

Games xgd2 works without problems

3. Not using the corect media (Verbatim + R DL - made in Singapore)

I use TDK DVD-type

4. Not using a iHAS "burner max"
compatible burner with firmware patch.

I use the burner of the type LG

After trying to get a DVD of the type of Verbatim + R DL
And burner for your computer desktop type LiteOn IHAS
And burned the game kind of XGD3
Tell you the result

Thank you for help me

You need to learn more about XGD3 discs:

To brief it out for you, now we can only use one brand of burner a iHASX24 and media Verbatim DL +R (Made in Singapore) so a LG burner with TDK media will fail every time.

On top of that the new burners firmware must be patched, this allows burning of up to 8.7GB of data (an extra 191 MB of data).

Start HERE and read carefully it will tell you everything you need to know.

Once you get your burner flashed and EEPROM setting sorted read HERE:

There is not much else we can do in this thread, we can offer more support when you get your new burner and discs.

You may get advise to truncate discs or that other discs can be used but these are just a time wasting exercises that will bring you back to this post eventually, so trust someone that know what they are talking about.

Hello.

I´ve been reading this topic because I have the same E66 problem, but only with XGD3 games!

I have a samsung spoofed as a liteon ( my liteon got wasted). I think I have correctly spoofed my drive. What I did was: First I flashed back to and OFW ( samsung, even though my keys are from a liteon, with one firmware supplyied in the firmware pack), then I updated my console and then reflashed again, using my original keys as source ( dummy.bin) from my liteon and flashed to the LT+2.01 sammy firmware and spoofed the keys.

I can run XGD2 games, but XGD3 get me the E66 screen.

Should I reflash? How should I do it? Use my original firmware from my wasted liteon ( dummy.bin) as source and use the lt+2.01 sammy as target? Is this the right way to do it?

All XDG3 games will throw the E66 error if you have a spoofed drive. THERE IS NO WAY AROUND THIS! You will need to buy a lite-on drive to play your XGD3 games.

Sorry!

OP: Sammys are VERY picky about the media they read. In addition, Verbatim disks and the iHAS burners are the only ones confirmed to give you a proper full-burn of the XGD3 games.

I used HP disks before (XGD2) and my Sammy would only ready about 1/2 of them. After switching to Verbatim disks, I have not had a single issue. Best of luck to you!

Edit: I have only used Verbatim disks for XGD3 burns. All has gone well except for Skyrim. It seems to load REALLY slow. Might just be a poor burn, I have not checked.

Well my liteon burned so I used a friends samsung that he had. Yes, the samsungs are really loud reading the dvds (XGD2) and with verbatim they are less louder.

Theres seems to be alot of confusion about htis XGD3. And I have heard that some can play on spoofed drives and others not. I just wanted to be sure what if I can or not because I seem to be wasting dvds disks on this matter that maybe eventually don´t have a solution.

So I have the spoofed drive, do you think that with manual spoofing will work the XGD3 games.

I am sorry to always keep asking this, but I want to know if the E66 error is related to the firmware, dvd drive, or bad dvd burns?
