Confirmed as well. Purchased a new NAND-X from Xconsoles, plugged it into same install points and worked without a problem!

Looks like sometimes there is actually a problem with the product, but sadly there are too many stupid people making mistakes for them to take us seriously.

easy way to test without buying a new one.
- plug the nand-x into your computer but not the console
- run nandpro with a similar command. Nandpro usb: -r1 test.bin

If you get an error that says something like "no usb device found" then the nand-x is bad (or no drivers installed). If you get something like "no flash controller found" then soldering is bad.

It's entirely possible to kill the IC on the NAND-x due to misuse. First port of call is to contact the reseller and explain the situation. They'll either exchange it as part of warranty or refuse down to misuse.

If the latter is the case, replacing the IC on the NAND-x (the part you fried) is the solution.

Well holy hell, wish I would have "tryed" that in retrospect. Who would have thought my pc needed NAND-x drivers?
