Hi, just wandering if anyone can help, i have a known working Benq drive with no laser issues etc. I have flashed it to 0800 3.0 firmware to have as a dedicated ripping drive.

It flashed ok and shows up in windows as a drive, when a game is inserted it recognises it, but on XBC the read button is greyed out.

I have changed the settings to my right drive and selected my drive from the drop down menu but still no luck.

Im using XBC 2.9, connecting to a via sata card to flash and powering through an old Xbox 360.

Any help on this problem would be fantastic

I managed to rip a disk using s360x but when I goto check it says its not a 360 game. XBC still ain't recognising there is a game in and the read button is still greyed out. I have tried a different drive and still the same thing I have also tried to flash to older 0800 firmware but nothing. Its really annoying me now because everything is as if it should work and its getting recognised by windows as a drive.

what game are you trying to rip by the way, if it's a XGD3 game and you are trying to check with ABGX .. it's not updated to include XGD3 yet..but shouldn't have trouble with older games
have you got the latest version of XBC as well, they released a new one for XGD3

in XBC go to the drive tools tab, it's in there directly under the tab...not sure if that's the problem though

Its worth a try tho. Just to check the power source shouldn't make a difference should it? The ck3 is out of stock in the UK at the min so I'm using an old E76 console but I have no problem flashing with it.

For some reason since installing 0800 v3 my drive does exactly the same thing

The only way I can get it to recognise a Disc in the drive is to load the disc first then start XBC :frown:

I know the instructions tell you to start XBC first but this way works for me

I have also tried that but still nothing. On the drive tools tab everything is also greyed out should they work regardless of having a disk in?

If it's flashing drives then you must have drivers deleted, to use a drive for ripping it needs the drivers activating again ;)

Delete it completely from device manager, reset PC and let windows re-install it :p

Hi, I am now posting this in the right thread in the hope that someone has an answer.

I have installed a CK3 Blaster to my old xbox which has a Benq drive which I have flashed to 0800 V3 using jungleflasher and a Sata via6241 card (PC running Win XP) in order to backup the one XGD3 game I have.

I have the latest XBC, the current dae.bin, and have reinstalled the raid drivers.

When I open XBC it finds my Benq, and lists the following:

Xbox Backup Creator v2.9 Build:0345 By Redline99

Media Type: DVD-ROM
Bytes Used: 8.07 GB (8,662,351,872 bytes)

However the start button is greyed out so I am unable to rip the game, I have checked everything that other people have tried but still no luck.

Does anyone please have any answers to this problem? If need be I don't mind starting the whole process over again following an idiot proof step by step instruction just so that I am certain I am not missing something in the process.

Any help would be greatly appreciated
