Problem with 2.6 ce, not enough power?

My chip was working fine for about a year, and then i messed with it...causing massive problems!!

Well basically right now, when i boot up with the chip on not much happens, but with the chip off the red light is on and it is dim then gets a little brighter then dims. It seems like it doesn't have steady power or something...any ideas on what might be wrong?

Are you referring to the light on the switch panel? Does the Xbox work with the chip off?

Well the original problem i was having was the chip not always working (the xbox would try to boot 3 times with the chip on..taking a while to get working) so i opened it up and made sure all the connections were good and solder was still in tact.

With the chip off, the xbox works fine. The lights i am refering to are the ones on the x2 control thingy..the pannel with switches for the banks and stuff.

What version Xbox is this? What type of install did you do a wire or the pin header? Is there a light on the chip?
