hello
i bought a LiteOn iHAS124B and followd the guide place on: http://team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=74899
everything went smooth, i followd all the steps listed on the thread above.

i use imgburn 2.5.6 when trying to burn XGD3 backups.
1. i changed all the things needed in imgburn options (calculate optimal) etc.
2. i dont get the "trancute" messege for some reason. i saw that in every guide this messege supose to pop.
3. burning is going with no errors but keep failing on verify stage, and always on the same sector (happened on 2 different backup burns).
4. tried to burn 2 backups. the 1st one is working but saying that the disk is unreadable after a few mins. the 2nd disc is recognized by the xbox but stuck on the loading screen when i try to play it.

so my question is: is there something wrong with the firmware? maybe i just had bad luck on these 2 backups? i use verbatim mkm003 cd's for the burning process.

thanks for the help

1 i never had to change a thing on my settings.
2 truncate is the old way of burning as much as possible to the disc so you will not see it now you can burn the whole disc.
3 you should be verifying the burn with kprobe not imgburn
4 could be bad luck. i had 5 great burns then 1 bad 1 good 1 bad 1 good then all good since(about another 3) also using mkm003.
i personally think its hit and miss no matter what your settings are.

as garageinc said truncate is the old method the reason your not seeing this is because your using the burner max fw so your using the full capacity of the disk.

everyone has played around and found there own best settings really.

firstly what media are you using because i never used verbs till this happened but the results in kprobe with my old datawrite disks and the verbs i got off diaboliq20:D cheers m8 were totally different readings on the same settings.

you could try reflashing the fw then shutting down your pc and actually removing the power supply before booting back up. have heard this to help a few people

Probably need to be a vip so start helping people and soon as you reach 100 posts you will be allowed to view. I have found that verifying in imgburn and good kProbe and nero results as follows...pi of less than 100 and average less than 4...pif of less than 4 with an average of less than .02....nero score of 90 or better...now as for how to get them that depends on your setup it took me alot of disks to figure mine so if you are willing to test you can find yours..Mine are as follows smartburn checked...forced HT unchecked...Online HT checked..Overspeed checked..clear the OPC history after every burn...burn at 4x for MKM-001's this is what works for me but results will most definately vary and good luck.Cog

says im not allowed to view? because I don't have enough posts or something like that?
Yep you need 100 useful posts to view that material, sorry forgot.

Nothing I can do about it I am afraid, I decided when I created the guide that it would be exclusive to Tx as a return for all their support, over the eons, they have decided in thier wisdom that it should only be accessible by VIP Members (the more mature audience).

in seems that the effect of the eeprom settings is individual to each setup. after quite a few failed discs i realized that mine produced best results with smart burn off on the ihas124 and reseting the opc cache every time.

but now i got a new pc with the same burner and verify fails every time.

however after testing with kprobe it produced good results, i installed the disc and it worked 100%

id suggest run it through kprobe and if the result is not good play around with the eeprom setting till you get a good result. youll waste a few discs but at least you will know for sure
