Hi everyone, I have looked and searched through the forum to find someone with the same problem as me, while some are close none are exactly the same. If there is one out there, I apologize ahead of time for double posting.

Right now I have a 1.6 with a new installed X3 Rebuild. I have checked, and checked, and double checked again all solder points. I am very confident that the soldering is not a problem, but just to double check, I have used my voltmeter and tested all connections and everything has a good connection. During first attempt to flash bios everything went perfect. Proper color light came on when I quick pressed, long pressed, and double pressed. I got to the flash screen in the bios for bank one. Everything appeared to flash properly, but after it turned off, when I rebooted to X3 bios, boots 3 times then frags. M$ bios works fine. Backup bios boots, however there is no display, but if I push the eject button, switches to X3 bios and shows flash screen. I have tried reflashing 4 times now, every time it looks like it flashes fine, but I get same errors.

Re: Problem with fresh install - Doesn't appear to be hardwa

I have the exact same problem...

I installed my chip Xecuter 3 Chip a week ago on my newly bought Xbox Chrystal.
Checked the soldering points about a million times now but everything looks fine...

The Xbox is manufactured 2004-09-11 (out of all dates...) so it should be a 1.6 but could be a 1.6B

If I start it up in normal mode (red light) it works fine,
In chip mode, it uses the HD for a couple of seconds than it just turn the green light (on the front) into a yellowish light and the only thing operating is the fan, no bios startup on the tv screen...

The same proccedure in back up mode...

I don´t know what to do... gratefull for all suggestions....

Thanx!

I flashed with the x3 1959. I also tried it with the Evox Bios just to make sure that it wasn't a corrupt bios and same error with that one.

Re: Problem with fresh install - Doesn't appear to be hardwa

tallefjant: you need flashbios 3.03 on your X3 chip, most X3 ship with both flashbios 3.01 and 3.03 now, so try all your banks until you find it

Re: Problem with fresh install - Doesn't appear to be hardwa

If you have a 1.6 xbox you need to flash with X3_1959_v16plus

What version is your xbox?

1.6 or 1.6b?

If its a 1.6 then you can use flashbios 3.01

push power+eject together and you should be able to boot in backup...therefore flashbios 3.0.x

So just press eject to boot to flash screen and flash with the X3_1959_v16plus

Re: Problem with fresh install - Doesn't appear to be hardwa

First thing is to determine if you've got a 1.6 or a 1.6b. Easiest way is to check your ram, if it's Samsung you've got a 1.6 and need flashbios 3.0.1, if the ram is Hynix (something like that) you've got a 1.6b and need flashbios 3.0.3. I had the same problem, I've got a 1.6b but my X3 only had flashbios 3.0.0 on it. What you need to do is either put it into a modded 1.0-1.5 xbox and then flash the flashbios to 3.0.1 (1.6) or 3.0.3 (1.6b), then put it back into your xbox and flash it with the X3_1959_v16 (if you've got a 1.6b use the v16plus) bios. If you don't have access to another xbox you'll have to follow the instructions in this thread http://www.teamxecuter.com/index.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=25821

Hope that helps.

Re: Problem with fresh install - Doesn't appear to be hardwa

You should have a flashbios on the chip by default, but your xbox version will depend on which flashbios you need.

Try boot up backup bios first (power+eject) first to see if that works.

If not then try all your bank combinations which can be found here:

If you have hynix ram then you most certainly have a 1.6b xbox in which case you need flashbios 3.03

Re: Problem with fresh install - Doesn't appear to be hardwa

wow - that tutorial seems to be a bit to complicated for me...
I don´t know sh*t about linux and it seems to be a lot of different errors coming up for thoose who have used it...

I found an intressting shortcut in the thread though:

pattherat said:
Thanks for the info on the imaging product...

I also got extremely lucky after posting and got 3.0.1 to start up on my 1.6b after about 100 power cycles in a row. Needless to say I quickly got it flashed and then added 3.0.3 to the backup bank! Thanks for the info and guide though....

(and yes, FTP would be useful to backup if the chip had anything other than flahsbios on it! )
Does this mean that if I´m patient and just try the eject button about a 100 times it might start up on my 1.6b XBOX or do I have to send the chip back to my reseller for them to re-boot it for me for an additional fee a lot of money?

I´ve tried all the banks but it didn´t work (thanks anyway hung) but it sounds like that other guy I quoted got lucky once, is that possible?
