I have discovered that my 250 gig hitachi hard drive is only allowing me to store 25 gigs worth of games on it. When I try to go over that it will copy using dvd2xbox but it won't show on the harddrive. Is my drive incompatible. I have it on master and I have tried cable select and the same thing happens. I have an x2 lite with bios 4983.06. I don't understand why I am only getting that much. I use the latest build of slayers and do a full install of large dc c and it is suppose to create a large f drive. Is my drive bad or am I doing something wrong. Any help would be appreciated. I would have posted in my other message but I am not sure how to repost something. Thanks.

Hey,
I read your other post too and I'm still at a loss. It seems you did everything right except maybe using the wrong option in Slayer?
Did you read the PDF or README files that came with it?

Did you try to reformat again?

Also, use cable select.

Have you tried doing a full format of the harddisk again? Personally, I don't have/use Slayers - I always do the HD preparation from Xhdprep & FlashFXP, and have never once faced any difficulty using this method.

I have read and used slayers and have formatted it a couple of times. Once even I did raw commands in smartftp and formatted it that way. Everytime I try slayers I format it. Should I format it using my computer and than putting it in the xbox? I am going to try a 160 gig harddrive I have laying around. What are you guys using. Am I using the right bios. Thanks.

I did flash the bios with the one on slayers. I just installed the 160 gig maxtor and it works. Does that mean the Hitachi is not compatible? Or is something wrong with the Hitachi. Any help appreciated.

abrocky - he's using the latest BIOS - 4983. Slayers isn't the answer to everything!

The Hitachi HD should work no bother - it may just need to be configured again.

Like I said, I don't use Slayers - what I'd do is put the HD in your PC, zero the first 4096 sectors using Xhdprep, then put it in you Xbox, and format using raw commands from Flash FXP (or similar).

I found out the problem..I had the jumpers on the back to CS and Master for 32 gig limit. I switched up the jumpers and now have 250 gig. Thanks for all your help.
