Probally better off tell u what i did to my xbox before i get to whats wrong. So heres my story:

First I installed the x3 with a pinheader on my 1.0(i pulled the solder and everything to fit it through)

Every so often the xbox would not work and would frag so i either gave it a love tap or opened it up and pushed the modchip down a little and it would work without problems for a while then it stopped responding to this treatment so i got fed up with it and went with the wire install option(destroyed the pinheader in the process)

Now to the present i realized that the thing was probally doing what it was doing due to dry solder joints and now its to late to go back cause im out of a pinheader. My xbox is now not booting the x3 bios but i am able to get it to go into backup mode and get the regular xbox bios to boot with no problem. It frags when i try to get it into the x3 bios and every so often when i try to get to backup mode. The selector in the front is turing blue then shuts off(at one point it wasnt doing this i had to fix a broken trace.) The rest of the wire soldering looks ok but the grounding point is kind of broken on one side(not sure if this the problem)

To Summerize: Switched from pinheader to wire install and the xbox wont boot the x3 bios.

What can be the problem?

Any help would be appriecated

Thanks Konrad

I am not an expert, but it sounds like more solder problems to me.

And by the way, you should never have to give your XBOX a lovetap.

Properly installed Xecuter chips always love you back.

Seriously though, I would double, triple, and maybe even quadruple check your solder job. Never hurts to look it all over again.

Soldering every time .... and you mentioned a damged trace ??? .. hmmm ...

Remember the golden X3 rules ...

TWO LED's on chip to work ...
BLUE 'X' on front panel ....

Especially if it's intermeittent, it's got to be soldering.
And to recap ... .soldering !

Actually it would be 3 LED's (2 Blue and 1 Green/Red)

Thats what I said ....

TWO on the chip ...
and the one on the front panel ..

Anyway, TECHNICALLY it's four ... or FIVE for a X3CE ...

Go think ...
