Hi, I bought a new liteon 74850 to replace my other one because it would not read disc before and after flashed and tried replacing so many parts I just gave up and bought a new one, but the new one has different firmware, 7485, and I can't even start to extract the key because the drive then becomes undetected and then I have to unplug it and wait a minute for it to become detected again, and I want to put my new key on it and flash it but I'm not sure if it's that easy. Should I get the key off of it first then upgrade to 2510c then flash or just flash strait to 2510c because I have my other dvd's dummby.bin, key, and everything else. I have tried looking around for what to do but wasn't sure so I came here hoping to get some help :).

use your orig dummy from your old drive..

if you are wanting to flash to lt 2.0

then load your dummy into source.if it dont auto load lt 2.0,then
load LTPlus-025-v2.0 into target.then click spoof source to target.

Once you have your dummy.bin and you have updated your dashboard, you can go ahead and flash LTPlus-025-v2.0 to your drive.

some reason, I can't get jf to detect it now, It detects all other dvd drives fine, I just tested my other extra: a samsung, benq, and liteon, but for some reason this one does not show up (it does rarely when I was trying to extract the key just in case but failed) and it has not been flashed or anything, any ideas?

If you have the drive key (dummy.bin), simply run Lite-On erase and it will put the drive into Vendor mode (status 0x72) so you can write new firmware.

Oh, and don't forget to click Outro/ATA Reset once the write has verified :).

I noticed that it only detects the drive after I unplug the sata cable and plug i back in after I open and close the disc tray but only for a few seconds... weird...

with ck3i, the power is fine because I can open and close the drive. It found it some how and put it in vendor mode, and started but now jf is frozen (not responding) :/
