Ok I was having problems with my X3 on a new 1.6b box Im doing for a friend. I followed the guide for LPC rebuild on the main page. I had a professional assembler do the soldering where I work so I did not use the LPC rebuild kit. I am not getting power to the front panel. I was sitting here looking at the rebuild kit and I noticed that it has a 5th rebuild trace that the guide did not. Pin 15 to Pin 9 on LPC for 3.3V VCC. I saw some other guides that did have this. Would this be the cause of my problem? Why isnt it in the guide?

Do both the 3.3v and 5v lights illuminate on your X3? (i.e. the 2 blue lights)?

If they are both lit, that at least means you are getting 3.3v power. Pin 9 to 15 trace, as I understand it, is only needed to ensure you have 3.3v.

I just chipped a 1.6 box and didn't bother using the LPC PCB rebuild board and I did not connect the 9 to 15 trace together because I had 3.3v working and the box works great

Only have one light. I couldnt find a diagram on what each light meant. Is the 3.3V that powers the LED's on the bank switch panel? This is what I get for promising to finish this for someone for christmas....

I'm not sure if it's the 3.3v that powers the front panel, but we already know there is a problem, so let's start there.

Okay, now we need to know which light is NOT lit. The LED by the LCD contrast wheel is for the 5v connection. The LED at the edge of the X3 board opposite the wheel is for the 3.3v. You need to find out which light is not lit.

If it's the 3.3v then try this: 3.3v can either come from pin 9 or 15, so what you can do is re-create the trace from 9 to 15 just as if you had used the LPB PCB rebuild. that should solve that issue. If it's the 5v LED that's not lit you need to double-check the 5v wire connection.

Once you have both lights lit, we can go from there.

Re: Problem with LPC Rebuild Guide? (And front switch proble

Im at work so iI cant see it. But its the light thats closest to the Alt 5v connector pin that isnt lit up. If i pull the 5v connection the light that is on turns off. Checked it all with a multimeter yesterday so im pretty sure the 5V is good. Im going to have somone do the 9-15 connection for me tonight to see if thats the problem.

Yes, I'd try that and then post back and let us know how it went - it helps to know what worked and what didn't, so we can all learn more.
