Problem with my 2.6 CE bios flashing ...

install is fine, everything works, but the bios i threw on was 1mb like i was told, but now i realized that the 1.6ver bios i put on wasn't the one with >137gb support. now i can't boot into cromwell to change this ... never had to reflash without cromwell before ... what are my options?

i've downloaded flash-x, and the flashbios ver3.01, as well as the latest bios for 1.6 to install. hopefully this will work, will post with outcome.

Now it's fragging ...

Please god someone help me and give me a ray of light. This isn't my xbox it's my buddies, and I need to get it working. I don't have a programmer, and I don't know what to do.

have you tried putting the original small harddisk back in and then trying to reflash?

does it come up with a screen error (ie number 7 in the left corner)

if that dont work you have a couple of ways to get it back

1) do the bios swap method (put another mod chip in with correct bios then remove it and change back to the mod chip you are having problems with then reflash)

2)buy a mod chip programmer from one of the venders advertised on the main page

if you do the swap method be carefull not to plug the mod chip in the wrong way or offset the pins...

Hey Baz, thanks for the reply ... not getting any errors, just the frag. Have a friend with a programmer for x2 and he's going to help me program it. Question tho ... should i reprogram with the x2 16plus137 with 512, and flashbios on the other 512? or do i need to go full 1mb with the bios?

Hate when things go screwey, but i like it because it's the only time it will happen.

Flash X2_5035_vOld_512k.bin on the 1st bank and Flashbios 3.01 on the 2nd bank

yea islander223 is right so you get a modded boot on bank 1 and a original cromwell on bank 2 if bank1 fails

mind u the read up on 5035 says

x2_5035_vOLD_512k.bin - older xbox versions v1.0 - v1.5 ONLY
x2_5035_v16plus_512k.bin - xbox versions v1.6 and v1.6b ONLY

but members on here know whats best as they use them all the time

the 303 cromwell says
Tested working on v1.0 v1.1 v1.2 v1.3 v1.4 v1.5 v1.6 v1.6b
Some users reported sometimes slow boot on v1.6 but perfect on all others inc v1.6b
For v1.6b detection RAM is usually Hynix and v1.6 RAM is usually Samsung

thats why people are using version 3.01 on the 1.6
