problem with v1.6b crystal xbox

firstly, both leds were lit on the chip 3.3v and 5v when in the v1.6b crystal xbox. major problem with 1.6b version xbox (has hynix ram). when chip installed black screen appeared and not the flash bios screen. i then put the chip in another xbox v1.4 and flashbios screen appeared. flashed with bios 3.03 and then 1959 and all appeared well. however when the flashed chip was put back in the crystal 1.6b all i get is a black screen, but xbox works perfectly when chip disabled. i have checked the solder points over and over. i suspect a software problem or a bank problem?? any ideas will be appreciated

i think you are using the wrong bios ,u need to be using the m8 16+ for a 1.6b box.flash the chip with this and you should be cookin on gas

thanx for the help but cud u expand a little. as i am not sure about m8 16+ bios. is this instead of flashing the chip with 3.03 or the 1959 program and can i get this of xbins??

i take it u r using a xecuter 3 chip if so u r using the right bios 1959, the m8+16 bios is for the x2.6lite chips, as for the blank screen either your flashing the bios wrong or u have a bad connection on one of the lpc points, did u do your rebuild correctly, check all that m8.

if u know your bios is flashed correctly then its got to be your soldering.

Am a little confused.

for 1.6b with 2.6 chip i have downloaded EvolutionX M8plus Bios.rar there are two bios files in this. i take it i use M8plus_16.bin.

Also am i right in thinking that the latest X3 bios works ok on 1.6b xboxes as i sold mine to a mate who could not get a xbox for xmas, and this will be replaced with a new xbox soon.

yes use the m8plus16 bios, theres seems to be different 1.6b's not sure why but some seem to work well with flashbios 3.0.3 on bank one and m8plus16 on bank 2, others need to have the m8plus16 bios on both banks to stop clock resetting and lockups, no-one seems to know why but hopefully all will be fixed soon. as for the x3 the 1959 bios works perfect for the 1.6b as far as ive heard, so for now, the x3 is the better choice for compatability on all xbox's.

Well i'll be ok as i will have an X3, may try to talk the others around to x3's as well, or delay until the next x2 bios is out as this is announced for Jan 05.

Old Xtreme 1.6FW, can it support AP25 with a game-iso patch?

Title says it all, I was banned in the ban wave from last november. I dont care about flags or anything I just want to play new games without having to update the firmware. Is it possible?
