LITEON DG-16D4S - SLIM Problem with Xecuter Unlocked PCB

I seem to have a problem with one of these pcbs I just got, I flashed it fine but the problem is that whenever i press eject and then close it only closes half way.


If I force it to close it reads the disk fine.


Any ideas

Clean the disk tray, possible build up of dust grime.

Or remove the elastic band that opens and closes the drive and put it in hot water for half a minute. It tightens it back up as they slip when they get worn...

Inspect the board for solder bridges look for anything touching especially near the wires.

Someone yesterday said that they found a very fine strand of wire bridging the connections to the PCB. Could be worth a check as mentioned in above post

I have tried the pcb on 2 drives and these isnt any solder bridges

Did the PCB outro and lock OK?

Hi m8,
I had a similar problem like this the other day, i found that where the five coloured wires connect to the tx pcb there was a very fine thread of copper wire running along the bottom edge of the board (thinner than a piece of thread). This was in contact with all five wires, once i removed it everything works fine.

Could be worth checking for something like this as i didn't see it the first time i checked.

Hi,

I just bought my 2nd PCB unlock and put it into my liteon 0225 all the connections and wiring are in the proper areas but when I try to eject the drive it won't eject. Also when I power the drive and hook it up to Jungleflasher it doesn't recognize the drive when i press "..."

Lastly I tried my working 1st pcb that I bought a couple months back and put it into the drive having the eject/power issues and it worked perfectly...ejected and was recognized in JF....before I ask for a replacement from the site I bought it from I thought i'd ask here and see if I could get help thanks

hey i had 2 problems like that one i forgot to to do the reset outro 3 times and that fixed that problem and the other that ribbon on the face plate if you pull it to hard when opening the slim it want work right i put clear plastic tape on the the back of the face plate to hold the ribbon in place so it want pull or move it worked fine after hope this helps

thanks for the suggestions...unfortunately neither of them will work.

1st one won't work cause JF doesn't recognize the drive even when plugged into USBPRO

2nd one won't work because when i try to eject it while in the system i get the red light and the e65 error but all the wires are properly connected.
