Problem Xecuter 2.6

First off this is my first time so I didnt want to start trying to flash my bios and what not from a disk since im not totally sure what im doing and I dont want o screw anything up. I also searched and either I dont know exactly what to search for or what but I didnt find anything

Ok well I ordered this modchip a year ago and just installed it now, it says 2.6 on the ship. Anyways I installed the chip fine as far as I can tell and when I boot up. I get stuck at this screen.

Before it goes to this screen it shows

Flash Type: Xecuter2 )1024k)
BOOT: Start usb init
Initializing IDE controller

and then goes to that screen

I reboot and the samething over and over, my xbox LED blinks orange once then it keeps blinking green and my cd bay opens. I have the flash protection off (I also have an original xbox controller plugged in, I thought I read this sometimes screws it up)

Anymore info you need just ask, I just dont want to screw anything up

1/ have you got a V1.6 or V1.6b xbox if you have a V1.6 then that flashbios 3.0.3 sometime dose not work can you set switch to bank 2 and see if you have flashbios 3.0.1 witch work on V1.6 xbox
2/ is this the screen your getting or are there other opions flash from cd / flash by http and flash by h/drive

I dont even get the options to flash from disc etc

I believe I have a v 1.0 xbox MFD is 2002-05-20

Samething, 4:30AM, hopfully I can get this figured out tomorrow. Also I just realized in the picture I copied it says on top of screen FlashBios 3.0.3 mine says 3.0.1

Phase 2 - Flashing
- Power up the Xbox with the mod chip on, unprotected with bank2 selected. Your drive tray should eject and your screen though look like this: FlashBIOS Screen Shot.Put the CD in the tray and close it. FlashBIOS should tell you the CD "BIOS" has been found and begin to load your new BIOS. It will automatically shutdown when done.
- If your CD isn't recognized (doesn't tell you the name of the CD), then go back into Nero and try the Track at Once burning method. If that still doesn't work then go tohttp://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?act=ST&f=11&t=12727http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?act=ST&f=11&t=12727http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?act=ST&f=11&t=12727tand find out what media works best for your DVD Drive.
- If you CD is recognized and it tells you "No BIOS Found... Halting!" then go back and recheck the names of your files and make
sure bank2 is selected along with the BIOS being unprotected. If all that is correct then try a larger dummy file. If all else fails, you are still doing something wrong... probably something very simple you are overlooking.
- After the flash, you should have the latest X2 BIOS on bank1 and the original FlashBIOS on bank2.

one more thing if you dont allready have it get a download of a dash installer CD it make installing a lot easyer some thing like "auto installer dulux" or "slayer evox installer"

it says in the tutorial to reset the box and try again
also make sure you've only got one controller connected to the first port
you may want to try another ms controller when booting up

Iv tried a original xbox controller and a microcon, samething. I dont have my dvd thing plugged in either. I made a cd with a dummy file on it and a bios one, samething happens. I turn the xbox on, my cd tray opens, my xbox led flashes orange once then keeps flashing green. I put the cd in and nothing, starts making the list of what I said then goes straight to that screen with one line and gets stuck there

are you puting the bios into a folder called "bios" when you make the cd

The flashbios looks for bios folder on the cd-rw
if that works let me know

Make sure you have the chip flash protection disabled.

Do not put the bios in a folder, put it in the root of the project (Disc) along with a padding file called dummy.bin, so you should have a file called BIOS.BIN and a file called DUMMY.BIN only on the CD/DVD. I would be inclined to use a DVD personally as you will have a thompson drive in your box and they do not like using CDRW.

Follow the above link and you will be fine, make sure you use a good quality DVD Ritek G05 preferably.

OK can someone please tell me what im doing wrong, I took my friends dvd bay and put it into mine because mine works but doesnt work, dont really feel like explaining it and I thought this maybe why im getting the problem (im buying a new dvd bay soon) anyways i put the new one in and finally I got the the options showing, flash from network, from cd etc

I went out and bought memorex cdrw's (read that these work) made the bios cd selected the option to flash from a cd, put it in the xbox and close it, it sits there on the screen saying waiting for drive, nothing happens and the dvd bay eventually opens again saying please insert cd. I then went out and bought verbatim dvdr's yet when I go into nero and I cant select the dvd part. Iv been trying to trouble shoot this whole thing for god knows how many man hours.

I finally get to the options screen and now this. Its like I finally unlocked the door only to enter the same room just with different wallpaper. I dont have a network setup and I dont feel like going out and buying a hub etc because thats more money and its just not worth it at that point. I tried taking my ethernet cord thats plugged into my xbox and plugging it into my pc but that didnt work (hey im trying anything at this point) and like I said i cant try the dvd flash because nero wont let me select dvd

any suggestions

update: I just tried it with a phillips cdrw and I got the samething
