Problems backing up 360 launch games

Greetings everyone,

Nice site and great information.

I have been backing up all my 360 games for a while now.
Crackdown, COD3, Star wars all went without a hitch.

What I am having a problem with is launch games.

When I try to back up King Kong and Gun, they both crap out at ~5.5%, with unreadable block errors every sector.

Anyone have any idea or know why launch titles wont back up with schtrom or XBC 2.4

Some things I have thought of and addresses

a) scratched/ damaged media.... I tried different copies of the game (mine and a rented one)
b) Samsung drive is set to master.
c) all other games work perfectly.
d) Tried Schtrom 3.2 and XBC 2.3 and 2.4
e) did a backup rain dance around my PC (didnt work)

Any thoughts are appreciated.

I was going to suggest the rain dance, but it looks like you already tried that. Sorry to see it didn't work.

It sounds like it's having problems where it switches from the video partition to the game partition.

You could try this tutorial

Tried that tutorial, still no luck.

Really strange...

anyone else have any other ideas?
