Problems flashing Xecuter 3

Hello. I recently got a pre-modded xbox With Xecuter3 CE and their control panel. The problem I am having it trying to flash the bios for the first time. I have made a DVR-R according to the instruction on this site but it won't read from the main Microsoft dashboard. Gives an error that it isn't a good disc.

I hve the switches: ON ON OFF OFF OFF - It still boots to the MS dash, and it won't read the bios DVD I made and gives an error.

I am just trying to get to the FLASH BIOS 3.0.3 screen but it never comes on. Could the chip be installed incorrectly? I thought modwhiz.com was a reputable site....

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Did they tell you that the chip had flashbios on it? or did they preflash it for you also?
Try holding power and eject button to turn on the xbox (instead of just power button)

sounds like your holding the power button to long if your getting M$ dash. flashbios 3.03 will be on switch settings (off, off, on, off, off, off) for the X3CP. flashbios 3.01 will be on swithch settings (off, on, on, off, off, off) or if you hold power/eject.

Holding down power & eject doesn't do anything different. They didn't tell me if it was pre-flashed, but I thought any X3 came with cromwell so it would go to he flash screen first time you used it so you could flash, that is whay I am gathering from every tutorial or FAQ I read...

I am thinking there might be a problem with the install because it usually does not turn on right away - when I hit power it makes a grinding noise and sits. I have to try again and again before it eventually goes to the Microsoft dashboard screen. I have never seen the flash screen at all.

If the chip didn't come pre-flashd how can I flash it? My other xbox has an Xecuter2 PRO which I used to hook to my computer to flash, but how can I flash this one?

I have X3 CE - I thought there were 4 switches and the protect = 5, you are showing 6 switches?

No prob, I tried that and I never get to the flash screen. In those two cases it doesn't go to the m$ dash either, just a blank black screen. Does this mean that the chip is not pre-flashd with anything on it? If so how do I do that initial flash?

Pre modded and not coming up? thats kind of strange...

X3CP has the buttons labelled. People should see Protect and buttons 1-4 above them.
Buttons 1-4, you can try other combinations... but (on on off off) and (off on off off) are the main two that should at least come up with FlashBIOS 3.0.1 or 3.0.3 which should already be on the chip and let you flash with the right bios.

Try some other combinations, or else get someone to check the chip out and flash it with X3 bios for you. If that still doesn't work, the installation might need checking.

what happens when you boot pressing the eject button?

No difference, blank screen - I can't seem to get to the flash screen and modwhiz.com doesn't return my emails or have anyone on the live customer service ever (or their IRC channel to help).

It seems as if they just forgot to flash the chip to begin with - how would I flash this, is there any other way?

Thanks for the info - assuming the installation is OK how would I "get someone else to check out the chip and flash it?"
