problems with 1.6b and xecuter 2.6 lite

Hello,

I recently chipped a Crystal X-Box (PAL) which I am fairly sure is a 1.6b (it is brand new). I am using the Xecuter 2.6 Lite mod chip. I have rebuilt the LPC, and used the pinheader install.

Using my external programmer I put the latest flashbios onto the modchip (4x256k images of it). The console boots perfectly into the flashbios. Next I use network flash to flash Yoshihiro's fixed M8 for 1.6B consoles onto the console (so I now have 2xM8 and 2xflashbios).

My console will boot into flaashbios perfectly still, however it will not boot into the M8 bios. What happens is that it plays the animation fine, displays the Microsoft logo, and then the console stops all video and sound output.

Two questions: Firstly what might be wrong and how do I fix it? Secondly, is there an xecuter BIOS compatible with 1.6b yet? (That I can install onto an Xecuter 2.6 Lite).

Alternatively if I am being dumb please point me in the direction of the necessary documentation. I did think this could be the problem about blank screens with the X3 -but I am not using an X3. Does that problem also arise when using an Xecuter 2.6 Lite?

Thanks,
Martin

Jungleflasher 0.1.69b and Win7 64-bit

So I just upgraded to Win7 x64 the day before JF 0.1.69b was released. I installed the portio64 driver and everything worked fine with my TS-H943A ms25 flashed with 0800 that I use for ripping. However, whenever I have my VAD6038 flashed with ix1.61 in as soon as I start up Jungleflasher I get a BSOD. Has anyone else had this problem, or can anyone shed some light towards a solution please?

try running jf before connecting the sata - then connect sata and power drive! use the refresh port button [...] (next to i/o port drop down list) to get drive to show up.

let me know how that works for ya?

I've tried that, and it works, but as soon as I run an intro/device id it BSOD's.

Ok, I figured it out. Apparently in x64 you have to power on the drive with the tray half open (didn't have to do that with the BenQ's in x86).

if the drive had ix1.5 or above then powering on half open is the unlock method (as per tutorial)

as braveheart said above if 1.5 and above use half open tray to put in vendor mode sock drives use benq unlock tab

Well, I've never had to unlock a flashed BenQ on x86 WinXP or Win7. I've always just plugged it in, hit the vendor intro button and flashed. Never had to unlock them unless they were stock. Oh well.
