SAMSUNG MS28 Problems with Burner Max & XGD3

All XGD3 images that are burned with Burner Max, doesn't show art at the dashboard, when pressed play, screen goes black and then returns to the dashboard. I've burned a few copies of the same game, so it's not just a bad batch of disks. The game works with my original burner, with the truncated method, so it's not the image. Did I not flash Burner Max correctly?

I'm using a Samsung MS28 LT+ 2.0 on dash 2.0.13604.0.

I can play XGD2 and XGD3 (truncated) games burned with my original burner and MKM-001-00 media.

Since ihas burners are required for the new ixtreme Burner Max fimware, I've acquired a compatible drive.

Plugged iHas324 B into SATA & power. Upgraded the drive, then power cycled the drive (reboot). Then I backed up the firmware and EEPROM. Then I flashed the firmware. And finally I hooked it up to my burning computer, via IMGburn, burned the XGD3 image at 2.4x (again, using MKM-001-00 media) with no errors.

kprobe: PI: 172, PIF: 4

Most probably a laser issue, they struggle to read that part of the disc dye that is not meant to be written on, posting a full probe test graph would help 172 PI seems very high to me (probably not readable) you might want to review your burn strategy.

The PI seems very high on the second run. How do I correct this for my next/future burns?

You PI if definitely the problem there, you need to mess around with the EEPROM settings.

Try switching Overspeed on and burning at x4 speed, this seems to get better results.

OK so I burned another copy and it still looks pretty bad @ PI 154 and the disc still didn't run. I figured it must be something else. I reflashed my sammy ms28 LT+ 2.0 to LT+ 2.0.1 and both of my final discs work. +1 Thanks for your help.

EDIT: 4x even on MKM-001 media?

Yes, burn at x4 speed for MKM001 media, enable the Overspeed setting in EEPROM.
