it boots xell martin c,but my main concern is why cant i use nand-x to read or write,in command window it cant find the device

i've got a coolrunner chip for slim i'm gonna see if i can program that with this nand-x,then i'll know its not the device

Are you sure you've not messed up soldering somewhere, broken a trace/point etc?

Just dump the NAND on your slim - you don't need the coolrunner to do that.

Be warned though, if you feel your soldering MAY be at fault, you could potentially fubar the slim too.

i've reflowed all soldering points they all look ok to me i very much dought i've burnt any tracks cause i do know how to solder.

the only way to find out for defo is to check soldered points to where the tracks go with a multimeter.

could it not be the nand-x thats faulty ?

thats why i said i'll see if i can program the coolrunner glitch chip

well they match - however this doesn't actually show you anything other than they match.

For instance, you could have blocks of EEEs and FFFs in both and match. I know you don't, but you get my point.

So you're booting to XeLL ok at the moment but you can't write anything back to the nand via the nand-x? Take close-up pics of the areas you've soldered to for the NAND-x and have a good look.

i'm pretty sure its not the soldering, but i have noticed over on the j2b1 section i've soldered all 6 points to the qsb where as i only needed to have solder 2 points.

i will desolder the qsb from that section & solder the 2 wires direct to mobo & see if that sorts it.

apart from this soldering the only other thing i think could be wrong is the nand-x flasher.

lol, all out of focus too!

have you not got a macro zoom on the camera? Worst case, move away from the object until it's in focus - you can always zoom into a focussed pic!

what i'm not understanding martin c & i'm trying to get u to understand me is why i was able to read my nand twice & dump them to my comp.
i did'nt do anything to xbox mobo or the qsb/soldered points after i read nand.

so why has my comp suddenly refused to recognise the usb device.

i'm sure its to do with nandpro because when i go to nandpro folder i try to execute nandpro application & get this message,

That error is because you have incomplete files in the nandpro folder, or you are not running as administrator.

Download nandpro v3 and extract to a folder. Run nandpro from there.

got auto macro not zoom but that was about the best i could do,but u can see my soldering is not a mess & i've checked every joint with a jewlers loup & every joint looks like they are soldered to the board.
the sure fire way of knowing is to know where all these points run to & check with a multi meter.

i dont suppose u know where all these point goto do u martin c ?

i've decided its the nand-x flasher it can not be anything els,i've checked & double checked even traced all connection points on qsb with multimeter.

its funny how it read my nand twice then i did'nt do nothing after that to the mobo or soldering joints yet it wont read or anything now.

is there away of testing these nand-x flasher ,so i'll know if its working ok or not?

the other thing to eliminate here is v3 hex file. If you still have the ability, download nandpro 2.0d and flash the armv2.hex supplied to your NAND-x. See if this changes anything.

I've been thinking about this recently and my LPC-2148 project board was working fine, right up to flashing it with v3 hex and I had intermittent errors after this with certain boards.
