probs with flashing bios..newbie

yo. i just intalled my xecutor 2.6ce chip with no problems. when i go through the tutorials on making a flashable bios cd/dvd i put the dvd.cd in the xbox and nothing happens. the drive willnot recognize the media. i've tried cdrs,cdrw's,dvd-r and dvd-rw media. one disc i did get to work started to work but it came up with an error and based on websites the error means that the disc wasnt done right. im using the latest x2 bios (5035) ive tried 5032 as well. im stuck, clueless and have no idea what to do next or where to look. ive done all tutorial exactly as stated. thanks for reading and any help would be appreciated. thanks again

cd-r no good try cheap cd-rw or dvd-r
how are you burning it
burn at the slow speed 2x max

thanks for the reply. i tried using imation 4x-10x cdrw and using nero 7 to burn. nero 7 wont let me slow the burning down to slowest speeds. also, i dont have really old media or cheap media. and if i do its all cd-r.

its not nero 7 that wount let you burn at slow speed its the dvd or cd-rw you are buying get ones that say 1x to 8x most say 4x 8x so you will have to look before you buy

well the only ones i found in my house are cd-r and i did find some that are 1-8x or 1-16x. but you said cd-r's are no good. i get different things from different people . someone said i could use cd'rs. what about dvd+rw's??

cd-r may work but only a coply of xbox can read them you could burn 10 cd-r then find out that your xbox dose not support them so i allways say there no good that why useing a cd-rw is better all xbox support them and if it dose not work you just write over the bad burn as with dvd-rw they should work to but dvd-r work and some dvd+r as well depeneds on what version xbox you have
you have to find what media your xbox likes i had a hell of a time because my xbox liked one type and my sons like another type till i found that a cheap brand worked on both xboxs
