for some strange reason i CAN NOT get this drive recognized in windows no matter what i try.I tried device manager and even tried disk management to assign a drive letter and still no go! Im wondering if its cause i do not have a reset button on my pc to reset after slax login screen.I have to power down after drive is in mode b.i can get it showing as cdrom in device manager but cant do anything from there,im using my via vt8237.PLEASE some one shed some light on the situation for me!

First, make sure the drive is definitely in ModeB by checking to see if it takes two presses of the eject button to open or close the tray.

Second, make sure RAID is disabled in your BIOS.

Get your drive showing up in device manager as a CD drive. If you can do that, you can then use computer management and right click > populate the drive.

Tips: scan for new hardware in device manager and right-click > refresh in "My Computer"

i cant disable raid or configure my sata because it does not appear in my bios.but i have flashed my ms28 fine! everytime i push populate in device manager i get an error,something about 1394 and usb! when i try scan for new hardware it just freezes up and say NOT RESPONDING.ok what about powering off pc at slax login instead of reset,does that change anything? sorry about that textbook!
