Not sure where to ask this as it's not really about a TX product per se so I figure The Noob Room is probably my best bet.

I have a Trinity Xbox with a CR4 and Demon installed which works perfectly, I have FSD3 and Aurora installed and working nicely however I'm not sure about a few things that I would like to check up on before taking any risks. I'm hoping one of the extremely knowledgable people on here might have an answer for me.

I've ripped my retail disks to an external HDD connected to the Xbox using FSD3 which works great (was really pleased to find this functionality as it means I don't need to find an X360USB Pro V2 quite as quickly as I thought, though I still want one to make backup ISO's of my discs), however on a few of my games I'm quite a long way in and also have some DLC's added to them (Fable II, The Force Unleashed and the like). My question is if I use my main profile (Live enabled but not set to login automatically) whilst on the glitched image will I still be able to use my save games and DLC's as usual or will that flag me to be banned if I then use that profile to go online whilst on the Retail Nand if I want to play against my brother on Live?

I know that I can create another non Live enabled profile and there are programs out there that can transfer game saves between profiles with the downside being you lose any achievements, hence I would rather not do that if I don't have to.

I suppose the other option if it's not safe to use my normal profile whilst online would be to create a new Live profile for the rare occasions when I do want to use Live?

I can post pictures of my retail discs with my Forum name and todays date on if anybody wants proof but I can't post XBC logs as I didn't use that to rip the discs to the HDD.

Thanks,

Llarrinye

I Have my profile on a USB and use it on the RGh and Live box. you can use the saves on either as long as they are on the USB and the game has the same version and updates.

Well that didn't work :(

Playing Fable II with TU4 (the latest) installed on the RGH allows me to load the save game but crashes instantly causing the Xbox to reboot, all the other TU's don't allow the save game to be loaded, they just say the save game is corrupt.

Trying to start a new game with TU4 installed also causes the game to crash though the other TU's don't.

Playing on the retail side with TU4 installed works as normal with my save game.

Is it possible the update for the game is detecting the RGH somehow?

You can update your system update from xbox live.com download to your usb then put into your rgh and it will update the avatar too.

I'm already running on 17150 with all avatar and kinect updates but thank you for the suggestion.

I've sorted it by installing the game to the HDD with NXE on the retail side, running the game so it updated and works with my save game then running nxe2god on the RGH side.

All is now working again :)

This is absolutely incorrect. Don't try and update your dash by updating from a Live.com download. It will remove your XeBuild. You can however update your avatar and Kinect data as long as your XeBuild version matches the one you download.

I actually thought he/she was on about the avatar and kinect data but after re-reading it I see he/she wasn't...

If it was then it was poorly worded. People need to be careful on how they word things. Word something wrong and it can mess someone up. Sometimes repairable but sometimes not.

I agree totally, I assumed avatar data etc because I'd already read about needing to update them for some games to carry on working so I erroneously assumed that's what sdigieso was talking about. If I hadn't already sorted my problem and tried what he/she suggested then yes it could have caused an issue.
