"program failed" after flashing

can someone plz help me out...i'm obviously a noob!

i was upgrading my bios to 3029 v16plus...i did it by ftp like the tutorial said to. everything was fine...yellow bar scrolled across, then the green, but when the green bar was completed, a message popped up saying that the program failed.

now, when i turn on the xbox, i get no audio/video, flashing green/red and a weird clicking sound from the xbox itself

i bought the chip in october and it was installed into a v1.6b
flashbios 3.0.0

what do/did i do?

for v1.6b to flash properly, you need flashbios 3.0.3 or else you may have issues. Since obviously you don't have X3CE so there is not much you can do except may be to try to flash to banks 5678 anyway to see if that works. Just set your switches to [off on off off off] and then flash. If that doesn't work, you need to have someone flash flashbios 3.0.3 for you.

if you had a working X3 bios and did an upgrade to v3029 and then it frags, then most likely the problem was bad or corrupted bios or wrong version for your xbox version. In any case, you still need to have flashbios 3.0.3 to reflash your chip. Make sure to update your backup bios to flashbios 3.0.3 after successfully flash to an X3 bios.

well, i used 3029 v1.6+...based on other threads, i'm pretty sure that was the right one...i guess it was a bad bios.

I've got the same problem with a 1.6b xbox. I try to http load the 3.0.3 flashbios but still come up with program fail. It's the first time I've done a 1.6b and it's driving me crazy. I've even tried swapping out the X3 into another modded box (1.6) and flashing to 3.0.3 but to no avail. Anybody have any other suggestions?

There are two versions of bios 3029... The good one for v1.6b is "X3 3029 v16plus.bin" look for them in the known places...
