OK, I am about to go in and get me a CoolRunner. I already have my NAND dumps, so I don't need a NAND-X for that. But I know I can program the CoolRunner with the LPT, however I have not found a real tutorial for it, I have just found bits and pieces everywhere, and I am trying to put it together myself, I was just wandering if anyone could tell me if I am right/wrong and point me in the right direction.

First of all, here is what I plan on buying: http://www.xconsoles.com/products/xecuter-coolrunner-phat-bundle.html from what I understand this will come with everything that I need to program via LPT.

I understand that I will need Xilinx iMPACT to program via LPT, which I believe is here: http://team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=74996 So is this just a suite of tools with iMPACT being one of the tools in there? I have not installed because I understand that there is a trial period, and I do not want to start my trial period before I have all of my tools with me.

And of course it will be programmed with the .jed files here: http://team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=74462

The only thing closest to a tutorial is here [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oatakWTdtXY"]How to program coolrunner with lpt cable - YouTube[/ame] basically all I understand from this is what to go once everything is hooked up and you have iMPACT running.

My biggest question are: What kind of wiring needs to be done before programming the Coolrunner via LPT. Would it be ok to completely solder the Coolrunner into my Xbox, and just plug the power cord in (similar to a NAND read)? And what settings should be set with the dipswitches (nor/prog/etc.) for the process.

So can someone help me out? What am I doing right/wrong, and what am I missing?

Thanks a lot!

I do not need the NAND-X, I want to program my CoolRunner via LPT. I just need a few things cleared up.
Install Coolrunner completely.

Set Coolrunner to NOR

Plug in Power supply to console. Coolrunner should turn RED and GREEN

Program Coolrunner with correct JED-file. Coolrunner now only turn RED

All done and your set to go
