what are the pros and cons of a flashed xbox?

PROs: It plays backups - thus saving your original disk from being scratched

CONs: You risk a ban from Xbox live

Yeah nice to have backups of your games but MS don't want people running Xbox's with modified drives and playing backups off a DVDR!!

Some people get banned for playing backups and some lucky ones don't!! it is the risk you take!!

The bottom line is: if you really like playing online and don't want to risk getting your console banned then stay clear of modding!! A banned console means you have to buy a new one in order to play online!! however your Live account will still be OK!!

i keep hearing of people saying you can flash the firmware and play backed up games no problem and still able to use xbox live.. Even read it elsewhere and was directed to this forum on how to do it...
