Protective Sticky Pad

OK, just installed X3 in kids xbox from Santa - don't know why Santa couldn't do this up front.

Anyway, the xbox is sitting with the top off, although the X3 seems to be working OK, running cromwell bios from backup (3.00) and banks 1 (3.01)and 2 (3.03).

However, I want to check where to stick the "protective sticky pad" included with X3. Pretty trivial question, but once I close the box, I dont want to open it again!

Thanks in advance.

How did you install the chip? Pin header or wire install?

Then you really don't need the sticky pad. It is for doing the wire install and having to stick the chip to the side of the xbox inner metal case thingy.

you could always just stick it on the back of the chip anyways for some insulation just to be over protective

That is an option, but I believe its the thompson drives that have a little "belly" if you will that sticks down under it and if you have that sticky pad on there you run the risk of having it adhear to the bottom of that. But its your xbox.

Yeah, Phillips, Thompson, all I know is that it isn't the Samsung. Anyway. For a dashboard I would suggest using Evox if you are really new to modding, or since you said it was for your kids. It is so simple. XBMC, in my opinion, doesn't make that great of a dashboard. It does however make one hell of a media player as an outside application. But I use UnleashX as my dashboard and love it. But that is one of those things that is all about preference.
