This was the best section of the forums I could find to ask this (since it will allow homebrew to be run), but I am curious as to how the PSP firmware hack is going. I understand it takes quite some time to work everything out and deliver a quality hack to the community; waiting is key here. I don't place the same amount of trust in the other projects out there hacking the PSP (though time may change this). Any update would be appreciated, if not it's completely understandable.

Yeah.....I think the reason its taking this long is because its going to be more than running homebrew...it's going to be able to extract game to pc...so an app for that has to be written -> the loader they were talking about...than an Eboot of somesort that will allow for us to play the backed up games.....and some other stuff....I didn't get this information from anyone here. If you think the way the xbox works (a moded one) than yeah you can see how this is shaping up.

sobretodo here means especially, as in especially for the emulators and homebrew applications. Other than that it's a pretty decent translation
I dont think there will been any software hacks for psp. I think all this hype is a bunch of bull. I think u will have to modd ur psp with a chip just like xbox if u want to get anything good.
the mother board is to small to be chiped unless they come out with a chip that snaps into place cause the psp will be a bitch to solder
well someone has hacked the jap 1.00 firmware to run small apps. it may take a while but they are also trying to hack the US 1.50 firmware. check here for updates... http://www.psp-scene.org
I still dont think it will be possible on the US 1.5 firmware. If it was they would have done it already. I think they are getting peoples hopes up. Just my thoughts tho.
It took quite a while to get sh*t working on the 1.6 Xbox, but they got it. Everything takes time. Just because something is possible doesn't mean it will come to you instantly.richierichdollar said:

My question is, and I'm not trying to be an ass or anything, but if it's taking so long to get a loader that will handle everything why not just release the emulator part of it first? Granted it won't have the abillity to dump the UMDs and play hacked games, it feels like theres a strong voice in the community who "claims" they aren't interested in that. Even if they are, it'd get enough noobs off their backs to continue their work in a bit more peace. I'm all about patience, what you guys are able to do with computers is much more than I'll probably ever know, but the sooner half of America is out on the beach playing chrono trigger, the better.senas8 said:
