I had a 1.2 Xbox running fine with a X3 chip in it, till the house got hit with a bit of lighting. nothing much else in the house, other than an old tv was damaged, so its possible that the XBOX isn't too badly damage. New Power supply may fix it, may not. Soooooooo.
Question, is there an easy way to test the PSU outside of the Xbox, not being hooked up to the mainboard. I don't have a working mainboard to test with. I have looked around for some pinouts, but haven't seen much about the xbox. Most is obvious, but it's not a standard computer ATX setup. If I knew of a good method to test the psu, I think I would be ok, at least knowing if its that or the mainboard that's kaput. Fuse seems good, resistors, etc on the psu also, but not enough of a trained eye, nor time to go over the whole thing.
I forget, does the X3 chip have a LED that stays lit all the time on a 1.0 - 1.5 box with a permanent volt source , even when the system is turned off ? Would be the first start anyway.
