I have installed my solderless pin header the xapt3r. and all the blue leds are on and the red led is on do i know that the connections are right. i can get the chip going fine but inly if i push it down X 2.6 if i don`t push it down nothing workds. is this a chip hardware fault. at the moment i just layered up cardboard so the cd rom drive pushes it down?
Any help?

If the LPC holes weren't soldered, did you fit the 'top-hat' shaped things that probably came with your chip? You may have worn the thread out the Xapter screw uses on the Xbox case - that may also be why good contact is not being made.

i don`t think is the case as the screw is tight and i have unscrewed it and screwed it down again and there is no slack or loseness there.

If you have to push it the chip down, in order for it work, there is obviously a contact problem - something somewhere is not making. Be it Xapter to motherboard, or Xapter to chip - if the Xapter is firmly connected, then it should work.

Did you clean the LPC contact points before installing the adaptor? If not, that may be your problem. Try cleaing them with a stiff eraser or a little bit of nail polish remover on a q-tip.
