because its slightly heating up the GPU causing the connection to reattach but its a cold solder joint that will likely crack quickly. That way only gets up to about 150C max - which is less than a proper reflow does just to preheat - let alone come close to proper flowing temp of 220C

Hi.
This is same as the towel trick. it causes the xbox to overheat temporarily fixing the console.
This will not last you may get a few hours or a few weeks but the best thing to do is get a professional repair.
Stopping the fans to overheat the console will cause more harm than good
 
Not to mention a terrible "fix" to be even contemplating.

The CPU and GPU get hot enough as it is and without the fans connected and operational, you are just asking for trouble!
not bad to say in the video TUT from TX ,for the v2 RROD fix it tells you to bake the xbox like this....not with the q-tip like....just unplug the fan lol
