Right so im running a Falcon Elite

right so i got the 10 on the boards done easily.

(sorry for the large images)

The last one on the Hana chip was being a right B***h then the worst happened, i dropped the iron and ended up taking 2 of the "whatever they are" as below off the board.

the console no longer boots at all, is there anything i can do or does any1 know what item it is that i have pulled off the board so i can perhaps get a replacement and resolder it back on

Ok, 2 options, sen it to a pro to repair or resolder 2 33ohm resistors back where the 2 you just removed were. If you can resolder the two surface mount ones, happy days, if not you'll need two regular 33ohm resistors. Not easy to repair I you're not a competent solderer.

Also you may have knackered the solder pad below where the QSB sits, hard to see from that angle, but it's possible.

After you replace the resistors. I have a feeling it still won't power on. As DayvG said looks like you lifted the R4B24 bad which will also need repaired.

If you've knackered the pad all is not lost, I did the same on my first install. The fix is quite simple and works a treat. It's in the coolrunner installation support forum.

yes i have destroyed the C3B2 pad and lifted the resistors from both R4B24 and R4B25,

however am i right in thinking, add new 33ohm resistors to R4B24 and R4B25 and just run a small wire from the left point of R4B24 to a little further down the trace bypassing the destroyed C3B2 pad and also splice a wire running to the resistor on the QSB pad

Listen i may be a noob on this forum but ive fixed this in the past if your in the UK hit me up a email at [email protected]

Proof ive done this fix - [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZxfoDmMUWdk"]RGH Fix Resistor Replacement PCP008 TTG - YouTube[/ame]

Channel has about 5 other vids of RGH consoles i have performed on or if feeling confident do it yourself.

time to take it to a pro before you kill it dude
i have no problem doing this, as i said, i was having some trouble with the QSB. dropping the iron was a stupid mistake, looking at the circuit, the plan of action i have come up with should work, i would just like the nod from someone who has experience with the xbox360

what im looking at is principally the same as this

except im obviously replacing the 2x resistors and continuing that wire round on to the the QSB board

Only issue is that this is useless if you do not replace the resistor go to a local electronic store such as maplins and you will need to purchase some 33 ohm resistors.

Then remove the old resistors which are burnt out test them with a meter ofcourse to check if they are damaged.

Then get a small bit of wire and solder that to either side of the pads in which the SMD resistor used to be and then solder them wires to the resistor. And horray should boot up like a charm again.

---------- Post added at 14:25 ---------- Previous post was at 14:21 ----------

Explained that incorrect you should only solder ONE wire to ONE pad then solder the other wire to the trace just before the pad. Sorry didnt think it through when saying it.

Go for it mate. Its only difficult if you don't know what you're doing. The fix you showed before and a pair of resistors and you're good to go. Once the repair has been carried out I would use the alt point on the back of the board for your STDBY_CLK. There's gonna be so much crazy wiring fixes on top so it will probably be a bit easier to not have something else soldered in that vicinity. Good luck bro, let us know how it goes.

well as i will already be soldering the STDBY_CLK further along the trace it would probably make sense to just add the wire in for that while im fixing the damage i have already done.
just a quicky, the resistor R1 on the QSB is just another 33ohm is it not?
if it is then i may just cut the end off of QSB as wires will need to be under there and just add another resistor and go straight to B on QSB

The R1 resistor on the QSB is a 0 (ZERO) ohm resistor.

Well that was a supprise, i failed something horrible at trying to get some new resistors on so instead i just bridged the connections and did the rest as i had planned, supprisingly the console boots and works, lets just see if i can dump the nand now

well it dumped fine just read error on F3 which is no problem

I would still put a resistor on that wire between the stby_clk and the QSB. There's a resistor there for a reason mate.

Dude, please, take your board and give it to a pro to fix it or soon you will have to get a new 360. All the resistors that are missing are there for a reason, a 33ohm resistor is there for some current limitation (U = R * I), so soon your hana chip will blow. Your soldering skills...are bad. Give it to a pro.

Check my install thread (first post) on how it should look.

If you're happy leaving it like this then fine - just don't complain when it stops booting.
