Hi its me again. I just recieved my nandx in the mail and got everything prepped for tomrrow when I install the qsb. As far as soldering the qsb's. Do i need to add solder to the holes or do i just heat the holes and make a connection? If someone could give a good step by step on soldering the qsb's. Also I noticed on point J1F1 there is no solder in the holes. If someone could elaborate on that process also. Thank you guys

ok so im trying to run my jtag tool and i get this error gyazo.com/d9cdeb777f4d40b0339df6...c94035.png what cnai do to fix it and ge the jtag tool UPDate

first cover all the holes in flux, then go along and put a bit of solder on each hole so it looks like a nice shiny bump.

Then place the QSB on it, then heat up the QSB pad and hte circle on the motherboard at the same time and and solder.

if you wreck the QSB try the straight wire install its alot easier well it was for me
i recommend the pin header install personally so you can detach your wires and such from the mother board

also if you pull the pins out of the pin headers that dont need to be there you can use those pins in another xbox

Just want to +1 for direct wire. I've used both QSB's, pin headers and direct wire, and for me direct wire was the fastest. Just put solder on the points, then put the wire on the solder bump and heat until it goes through then pull the iron away. Simple.

I also prep the motherboard solderpoints by rubbing with a fiberglass scratchpen a little bit and then clean with isopropanol. Not necessary though. Just makes me feel good with a really clean point :D Fluxing the points is also recommended (as mentioned time and time again).

Pin headers took the longest time for me as you need to clean the holes from pre-applied solder. My pump didn't succeed cleaning all of them, and i probably had low quality desolder braid.

I still use QSB's for the JTAG though.
