now did the rebuild but it still only boots to ms dashboard and not to x3 logo screen. now i was doing some checking with mutimeter and i get beeps from pin 2 and 12 which are ground but i also get a beep from pin 2 to pin 5 or pin 12 to pin 5 is this correct or not... i don't think so but just wondering....

If the PCB rebuild, then did you solder the d0 wire to the d0 pad on the PCB?

it was a PCB rebuild....yep to the do pad.. i have beep from do pad to the x3 mod chip. when it boots up are you supose to see two led's light up on modchip. i only see one... Light blue on the mod chip... i think thats the 5 v line. don't think im getting the 3.3 v... should i see the other led light up or...

did some resolder and it looks great but still just booting to ms dashboard. im not getting 3.3v... led on modchip is not lighting up. i get 5 but not 3.3v. ... i know my soldering is good... i have no cluse what to do next...need some help

Get a multimeter and boot the Xbox disabled. Get the reading from the 3.3 and 5v pins to see the value. You'll find out quick enough if the voltage is getting there.

Have you another chip you can test it with? If not, then you may need to contact your supplier as it could be faulty.

measured pin 9 and pin 15 and im not getting 3.3 volts and i don't undertand why...i'm totally lost now.....should i take off pcb rebuild and do a wire rebuild. ive triple checked my solder and its all good....need help

The 3.3v isn't part of the rebuild - it's only the data lines.score23 said:

If you still cannot get 3.3v through pins 9 and 15, then remove the PCB and try again.
Remember the voltages should be there without rebuilding ANYTHING.

I had a 3.3v problem, and it was that the external mod was causing a short. Try unplugging the ext. mod and try it.

with no mod chip installed.... and i took off pcb rebuild ... i get 3.3v at pin 15 thats fine but i get 0 v at pin 9 and another weird thing i get 3.3 v at pin 13 ??? should i unstall the pinheader next.
Is there anyway you can take a pic of the bottom of your pin header? You've either a.)got some solder splash somewhere b.) don't have a good solder point c.) burned up the pad around that pin

thanks for all your help guys much appericated. it was something to do with the pcb rebuild.... i took it off and did a wire install and it works great now. just one small problem tried programing it and it said it failed just at the end of verifying... made sure switch 1 and 2 were on and renamed bios.. thats ok.. it didn't do a automatic shutdown i had to power it off. But powered it back up and everything seems to be work great ??? it said it failed but it doesn't look like it has.... booted up to config live no problem... should i reprogram or just leave it alone....
