You guys wrote "We have also produced a similar solution for the v1.6 which will blow any other design out of the water" in the news. Does that mean you guys created a solderless solution for 1.6 boxes?

Are there going to be different releases of the Xapt3r? One version for 1.6 and one for 1.0-1.5?
It does seem like it. I wouldn't mind an ETA on the 1.6 Xapt3r though...

I'm about to buy a 1.6b xbox and I want to try a solderless for my first mod.

Hitachi 46 Problems

Hello all, i have a Hitachi 46 with ixtreme 1.51 drive that i have had forever and it finally went out on me and lucky me i had a spare Hitachi 46 also. But here is the problem when i hook up the spare drive it will only play audio CDs and gives me the DVD error with games. The Keys to the drives are both in the same spot so i didn't think i would have to spoof anything but at this point i am stumped and lost. I have searched everywhere for and answer but no one has had the same problem that i can see which concerns me. Any tips or suggestions PLEASE?

Re: Hitachi 46 Problems

I have the same drive, I was just wondering -what exactly do you mean when you say the drive 'went out' ? did it stop reading cds/games/ or one or the other or both..... could you please specify, because if it stopped reading but still would power up -maybe you could have replaced the laser or something? I would just like to be informed.

Thanks in advance...

Re: Hitachi 46 Problems

hitachi sucks! but it was my first flash.. most likely a few problems could arise. the moter is gunked up and doesn't spin smoothly and is easily fixed by removing it and cleaning then greasing it again. the laser gave out and just doesent work anymore. so just replace it.
there is a problem with the firmware. and a reflash would probably solve that main way to fix the majority of the problems is replace the hardware with the working mobo.

because i doubt the mobo will give out before the other problems happen. unless you electrocute the thing.
