Oke so im about to order a WD drive to use in my Phat xbox 360. I know how to flash it, but i have some questions of what to do afterwards.

-I now have a 120GB original HDD and will be using a 500GB one with a 320GB HDDSS.bin. I want to keep all my files, can i just backup Partition 0,2 and 3 using xplorer360, restore them on the new HDD, insert it in my xbox and will it be like nothing happened? (Will i still have my xbox live account setup, save data, installed games)

-Do i have to format the new drive in the xbox 360 first before transfering the data using xplorer 360?

-Can xplorer360 handle a xbox360 HDD in an external enclosure?

Thanks in advance!

Thank you for the fast reply, i understand that that is a solution but it would also mean i have to make a purchase that could be unnecessary :) So my questions still remain

You've not ordered the drive yet. The transfer cable is about £3-4 on ebay.
I'm ordering from a local webshop (The Netherlands).

But do you know the answers to my questions? Cause if it isn't possible i will order the kit i guess.. But if it is possible its easier to just transfer it using xplorer360.

You'll need the Xbox Compatibility partition data in any case. The issue is Xplorer360 doesn't work with all drives.

For your actual data, the transfer kit works exceptionally well and it more reliable in moving the larger data files.

That is partition 2 right? Partition 3 game data? And what is partition 1?
Can i just copy all 3 to the new hard drive and it will work?

If i know that i will just try using external HDD enclosure and if it doesnt work order the transfer cable..

And about the transfer kit being more reliable in moving larger data files, im sorry m8 but thats something im not buying immediately. Sounds a little like Monster HDMI cables being better. I only need to use the cable once so..

Edit: is it possible to use the Backup image and Restore image to do a full copy from the old 120GB to the new WD flashed one?
