Question about updating retail nand

I have done quit a few demon installs on slim trinities, but every once in awhile i get a console to where i will update the retail nand via xbox live and after it downloads it we all know the console restarts and then applies the update. After the console downloads the update and turns off it will not turn on. I have to put the coolrunner to PRG for it to turn on and when it does a red solid light shows on the power light. It does not go away at all. The console works just fine and when im booting up the glitch image on the demon the red light isent there. I will map this out to make it clear

*Have to put the coolrunner in PRG to update
*Red light after updateing retail nand
*Does not go away

I have had this happen on about 3 consoles all being brand new demons. any ideas what it is and why it happens? My guess is that the LDV does not change or something?

I have no idea why you're setting the Coolrunner to PRG, either.

That was actually Oggy's suggestion back when I was having a similar issue on a Trinity DemoN install, but that "fix" seems to cure it.

I have no idea why you're setting the Coolrunner to PRG, either.

I had to set the coolrunner on PRG so retail could actually boot. It wasn't booting after it downloaded the update and tried to restart. It would boot before but not after it was downloaded and turned off by itself.

I will be sure to try BL4K3Y's solution next time i get a problem. Not sure why i get the red dot "after" updating but i hope it will still help.

Also, as i stated before i have to set the coolrunner to PRG so the nand would boot. It wasent booting the nand after it had powered down because it was finished downloading the update. What could be some reasons for this?

Since this all happened in the past and i was just asking some questions i guess this thread is at the end of the road.

I never switch to prog when i apply update to the org nand side. Just update like normal console. my trinity+demon is just fine. both org nand (16202) and demon side (16197)

I updated my original nand via xbox live on normal switched on the coolrunner. You did something wrong reflash your stock nand if u can and make sure the switch on the demon bottom board isn't switch on to pc but on xbox.
