Ok i dont have the hard drive that i want yet.... im going to get a Western Digital 200 gig and im just wondering how u put it in with 1959, and a xecuter 3 chip... is there any tutorials out there that would help me? heh im too lazy to find em... but another question is... i play on xbox live and i hurd something about they check ur serial number, when u enter xbox live... what if i have the different hard drive in there? .... would it detect that i have a different hard drive and ban me? or can u do something and it cant find out that u changed ur hard drive? just one of thos questions that always kinda bothered me.. cuz if theres nothing u can do... then im screwed cuz i love xbox live!!! Its easy, there is a feature built in the x3 bios, just follow the on screen directions. Dont forget to backup your c and e folders via ftp.
Yes, they will detect the new HDD and ban you. To solve this issue, you need to reflash your EEProm, and do an account recovery. It'll look like you just bought a new XBox that way, and you won't get banned.
If you're curious why it works that way, its because of the Marriage Theory. The first time you get on Live, it harvests your EEProm and your HDD serial drive. If either one of these changes, they ban you. So, you need to change those two at the same time. I think you can get the nessary software on XBins <knock knock>. Hope everything works well for you!

^^^^ didnt have the money to buy the bigger hard drive

Yeah, I'm sorry. I wish I could help you further. I, personally, do not use XBox Live, but just know how it operates. I know you can buy new EEProms off EBay. But as far as flashing it... I can't help ya. I know that, somewhere in this big world of ours, software exists for flashing the new firmware, but I could not tell you from where. You'll just have to put out a plea for assistance and hope that someone who has done this before will help you. Sorry, I really wish I knew more about the subject!
