Question: Haven't been online since Feb, using Xtreme 3

Could someone please help? I haven't been online since February 2007. The last time I flashed my firmware was wifth the 3.3c Xtreme for TS-H493 (samsung).

I tried to flash it to iXtreme 1.2, but it kept saying "no drives detected", and I was using a VIA 8237 Chipset. I read later that i HAD TO use a 6421.

Anyway, my question now is, do you think that if I went online now, updated as well, would I be in any risk of being banned, if I played original games only from now on?

anyone with info on this? I really can't afford a new motherboard at the moment. Should I be safe with 3.3, and original games ONLY?

Re: Question: Haven't been online since Feb, using Xtre

No, you are not safe at all with "Xtreme 3.3" your lucky you did not get banned yet. However if you have not been banned yet you are probably fine. You do need to upgrade to "iXtreme Online v1.2" and yes if you do the upgrade backups are safe and originals are always safe. You can upgrade your drive without doing the "10 second tick" you can use the "0080 Disk" to disable firmgard and flash your drive.

Here is a link to the "0080 Disk" :

Re: Question: Haven't been online since Feb, using Xtre

hey Shax, thanks for the update on the situation. Wasn't quite clear on everything going on.

Anyway, I haven't been banned because the last I went online was in Feb, and that's with the 3.3. I didn't go online recently due to all the updates and banning issues.

Are you sure the 0800 would work with the 8237 VIA? Cause the guide I was reading said for MS28's I cant use 8237's or something like that, is that false?

Also one more thing, so what you're saying is, if i went online now, with 3.3, and put in original games, i'd still be at risk?

Thanks again dude.

I have a question, if i update my dashboard to the April update downloading the update from xbox.com and burning it on a CD (not going online) , may i be in risk ? I haven't been banned because i haven't been online since febrary ,since some games required to update to the latest "backcompatibility update" i need to do this update, what do you think?

Yeah but they probably got your xbox 360 MAC key, and next time you get online u would probably get banned, the safest thing to do was updating using a blank CD from xbox.com i think, or u might be banned by now, remember they need you to get online to ban you, they probably need you to be online for a while to check the modified firmware as well. You will find out if u have been banned next time you decide to go online.Cheers

Re: Question: Haven't been online since Feb, using Xtre

^^ obviously they have my MAC Address, and so to to every other console logged into the Live network. correct me if im wrong, but the only known difference from 3.3 to iX 1.2 would be stealth checks to BACKUPS. the core firmware is still the same, running MS28's. So how would this allow that firmware to be anymore "safe" then what I have now anyway?

for the record, i did mention, i'm playing Originals only.

You might be right, didn't know u had 3.3, i have 3.2c so i don't want to take the risk, maybe by updating through the CD, why didn't u do that? sounds safer! exitos!!

Re: Question: Haven't been online since Feb, using Xtre

^^ well, the thing about the whole updating, from what i gather, even if you update offline, the tracing thing that tracks your backups (without the SLI or whatever patches) would log it, then when you go online, even with originals, you'd be fried.

thats why, even though i have a "unsafe" firmware, if I only played online with Originals, and even offline with originals, I'm perfectly fine. However, if i wanted to play backups, the safe thing would be get the 1.2 iXtreme so it checks if my backups are patched or not, since 3.3 doesn't.

Unsafe way, test if the backups are ok with a pc (i think theres some program out now? no?), and if it is, its probably safe to use that patched backup with 3.3.

they aren't scanning firmwares, if they were, even the 1.2 people would be fried. they're scanning games.

just my honest 2 cents.

Re: Question: Haven't been online since Feb, using Xtre

Ok, if the Tutorials say something does not work then it does not work. Your still at risk even if you only use original games online. You do need to update to "iXtreme Online v1.2" in order to be safe weather you use backups on Live or not. Just having the moded FW is a form a detection. You do not need to buy a new mother board at all you can pic up a VIA VT6421 PCI card pretty much anywhere at a cheap price. And this card also works with the "10 second method/Bad flash method".

So to put it in light terms, YES! update your firmware if you dont you are at a big risk of getting banned!

Re: Question: Haven't been online since Feb, using Xtre

I talked to someone that knows about this, and he said that if you update the dashboard by the CD, not going online! you will be safe, no matter what firmware you are using, 5.2,5.3 or even lower ones.
As long as you don't go on live you will be safe, you can safely update the dashboard with a CD so you can play the latest games like the darkness and Flat out, hope this helps

gotcha dude. you're spot on, thats pretty much I figured too. so I'm thinking all your games are probably stealthed, which is surely why nothings happened. same goes for me, in fact I'm using an original now, so theres no way they'd "trace my firmware".

and if they did, that would mean even the iXtremes are trackable, and everyone would be busted

Re: Question: Haven't been online since Feb, using Xtre

All i argued about was with fundamentals, i took the info from another site about the sizes of the TORX ( http://www.360-hq.com/xbox-tutorials-2.html ) so i didn't make anything up. i do everything with respect and all i try to do is help.
Respecting with the dash update you can safely do it with the CD downloadin it from www.xbox.com
All i have to say about that.
