Just finished installing RGH on my slim and one of my phats, and I'm not sure on how to install xex menu, and play xex's off of the console.

Also is the dvd drive almost useless with these consoles ?

It can't play regular games?

Thanks in advance....

Carlooch flash the drive if its not flashed on both consoles your RGH console is no different to a Jtag console now so the install of FSD/Xexmenu and so on is still the same, you can put Xexmenu on a disc or usb there is plenty of info on how to install stuff all over the net.

alright lol, i must of spoofed the drive wrong, if im on a falcon should i use a benq or liteon, or can i use one of my 30 random hitachis or sammys i have laying around

Just make sure you use the right DVD key, cause i know that it can be pretty annoying to have to deal with that

You dont HAVE to. You can transfer games from your pc as GOD-files to your konsole and play them without the need of a DVD drive.

But if you want to play backup games from DVD then you would have to flash your drive.

Got it. I got the JTAG because I did not want to keep dishing out money for Verbatim DL DVD+R media... the one I used to use was the inkjet printable ones which cost even more. Now all I did was get a 750GB drive and pop that in; I was going for the 1TB by Samsung, but the price jumped from $105 when I last saw it to $189 at the Egg. The 750GB was $110 so it made more sense.

I was interested in this topic too. I had an older launch day 360 that had its DVD drive reflashed so I have my backups. Fast-forward to today and there are different stealth patches, ect...How can I get these to play on my RGH slim?

btw I saw the same newegg deal and went to click buy and the price jumped!!! So I did a 750gb too :)

the discs wont play as they are no longer written how the firmware wants them to be if they are really old. just read the disc to pc and extract the contents with xbox image browser and run on freestyle dash, it doesn't need any stealth that way or patches. in fact the game is stripped to just its assets and everything else gets dumped.

Thanks garageinc, this is what i'll do. Do you recommend any specific programs for ripping the backups back to my PC? (Preferably for the Mac)
