I have emunand with 7.0 setup on my switch and rarely ever used the sysnand but this time I tried to reboot into sysnand. This is because I wanted play fortnite with my younger sister, however in a rush thinking the update available was for fortnite itself (which there was) I accidentally updated to 8.0.1 on sysnand.

Am I SOL for using SX OS on emunand or at increased risk for bricking/ban because of this?

I tried boot into sx os and everything works so it seems.

I’ve seen the warning saying not to update so I’m quite confused as to the effects of my mistake.

you can play emunand on 8.x as long as the emunand it's self isnt 8.x

the notice not to update is mostly for noobs who have no idea what they are doing or for people that don't use emunand, or people that have an "ipatched" system (new Switch models) that want to use the Deja Vu exploit to boot into CFW as 8.x patches the Deja Vu exploit.

also if you wanted to play fortnite you would have had to update the system anyway, as to do any kind of online play requires you to be on current FW.

to be as safe as possible to not get banned, just make sure you never use illegaly obtained games on sysnand and never run/install custom NSP's on sysnand, keep emunand offline or never connect it to nintendo servers (never turn off stealth mode)

you don't really have anything to worry about because you have a RCM exploitable switch, so as long as you don't mind using emunand exclusively for the SXOS features until they release an update to the SXOS (or atmosphere makes a release if you like to keep your options open to other payloads)

Thank you being thorough, I understand now. I was a sxos on sysnand user but a few weeks ago I switched to using emunand so I was kind of a n00b in that sense and was worried that fricked up.

Also, after hearing about how 8.X.X+ has throws flags for autorcm, I disabled that feature as extra precaution against bans.

Hi sorry to bump on this thread but the other one talking about new Firmware 8.0.1 (https://team-xecuter.com/community/threads/8-0-1-dropped.131019/) was closed by an admin Hackerjac saying one thread talking about it is enough but I can't find any other thread.

Does someone knows which thread is he talking about? It seems like no one cares about what works and what doesn't work with SX OS and latest firmware...
