So I bought some 48mhz oscillators off of ebay to do a DIY upgrade for the coolrunner rev c. i've seen the points on where to solder the wires but I was curious on what kind of wires I need to use to tie the points? Can I just use some of the spare phat cables and which ones should I use? Thanks! -Asi

If you needed anything special, I'm sure TX would have added it here. I'm quiet sure wire of any kind would work fine, I'd say trim it to fit with the shortest wires possible to keep it neat.
I have not done it before as I only use Coolrunner rev c on Trinity motherboards as they do work quiet well, with no upgrades required, for any other boards I use the newest chip available. So I cannot vouch for it, but still, I'm sure any wire will do, as long as its not like 40awg strand, lol...

That's similar to what a CR3lite does, of course there are a few more tweaks on a cr3lite. If your experimenting that's all good, TX encourages that, but be aware that RGH2 (using CR3lite or CR) on Coronas and Phats are not too reliable and even with the upgrade you cannot expect good results all the time, even with the neatest installs.

So my coolrunner only came with the blue wire... and I don't see where I can install that instead of the shielded cable. Where on the board could I install the blue wire? (corona v5)

The newer diagram, found in Jrunner Images for example has a "White" wire where the "Blue" wire used to be. This is because its now recommended to use a shielded wire there instead, its not actually necessary and in most cases will not make a significant difference, in my personal experience. I can say that with consoles that are stubborn and will not boot fast, talking about 30-60 boots all the time, a shielded cable can make a significant difference. Like TX says, every console is different, you just have to adjust your settings to that certain console.
